Job Description
We are currently seeking to hire a Senior Product Applications Firmware Engineer for the IoT Business Unit. Responsibilities are the following:
? Implement and improve microcontroller firmware for Synaptics' embedded audio products
? Customize DSP audio solutions on Synaptics chipsets.
? Utilize proven coding skills in C, assembler, scripting languages, MakeFiles, and other software engineering tools to develop embedded products.
? Develop partner solutions that will integrate partner infrastructure, interfaces, and relevant components.
? Design, analyze, implement, test and evaluate proprietary software.
? Implement DSP algorithms on Synaptics chipsets

Required Qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
? 5+ years experience with:
o ARM Cortex M0
o 32-bit DSP processors
o Multi-core SOCs
o Developing utilities on Windows/Linux
o Bluetooth or USB device drivers
o I2C/I2S/UART/SPI protocols
o RTOS
? Expert knowledge of embedded hardware.
? Deep understanding of board/system level design and hardware/software interfaces
? Demonstrated proficiency debugging hardware and software issues using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
? Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and partners
? Ability to multi-task, anticipate customer needs, and prioritize activities.
