职位描述
Purpose of Position:
To manage a portfolio of purchased categories as agreed to meet the business needs of the organisation. This will involve in depth supply market and supplier analysis, proposing sourcing solutions to fully satisfy these business needs in close collaboration and internal stakeholders, sourcing and negotiating appropriate agreements, contracting and post award contract management in line with the defined Armitage Pet Care sourcing process for both new and existing products.
Key Accountabilities:
Build appropriate relationships with the relevant stakeholder community as agreed.
Work to define the business needs for each purchase or category within the agreed portfolio.
Deploy the characteristics of a good team player at all times and those as a leader when appropriate.
To be resilient when faced with very difficult situations, ensuring a clear and focussed mind at all times.
Understand and continue to analyse the supply markets for the relevant purchases and to define foreseen changes taking place.
Define the proposed sourcing strategy for each requirement and to agree this and the sourcing governance framework.
Implement the approved sourcing solution and achieve the goals defined for each requirement, delivering robust commercial and contractual agreement with the supply base, via highly effective, innovative and very persuasive negotiation styles.
Identify and mitigate risks through the market engagement, sourcing and contract management stages of the requirements fulfilment.
Define, create and manage the relevant supplier relationships within the portfolio as agreed, in order to deliver highly motivated suppliers in all categories of expenditure.
Manage agreed supplier contract performance to ensure that Armitage requirements are achieved.
To have defined clear indicators of success via a balanced scorecard that reflects the agreed objectives, and to report monthly on progress against each.
Seek innovative and best practice procurement solutions to be applied within the portfolio, as agreed .
Achieve the objectives and targets set for the role, in line with the Armitage Procurement Strategy.
Champion and ensure delivery of the Procurement Corporate & Social Responsibility strategy.
Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures and processes including Delegations of Authority.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:
Likely to be a graduate or equivalent level education.
Ideally MCIPS qualified.
Will have experience of working in a relevant procurement role for a number of years.
Good interpersonal skills including effective communications, relationship building and stakeholder management.
Knowledge and experience in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
Knowledge and experience in cost and financial management.
Technical Competencies:
Procurement Process Management:
Ensuring the effectiveness & continuing development of the procurement process in all phases from identification of business need through to performance measurement. Everyone involved in the process can contribute to value creation. The establishment and modification of processes, strategies & control procedures will result from review & constructive challenge at each stage of the procurement process. The procurement process should have the appropriate strategic context & key elements: Demand Management, Sourcing, Supplier Performance & Measurement, Performance Management, Knowledge Management.
Contract Selection and Legal:
Drafting, negotiating, & agreeing clear, concise, & complete contractual documentation which identifies roles & responsibilities & makes provision for all aspects of the agreed strategy with reference to process, steps & templates. An understanding of contract law, the business application & its critical success factors, negotiating skills, & the ability to access & apply specialist legal & technical advice, are all required, in order to protect client’s commercial position in such areas as liabilities, indemnities, insurances & warranties. Building flexibility into contracts such that business change and associated requirements can be reflected over the life of the contract. Elements of Contract Execution: Supplier Performance Metrics / Risk Assessment / Risk Mitigation / Exit Strategies / Terms & Conditions.
Supply Chain Analysis:
The ability to apply knowledge & awareness of supply chain processes & networks to control and optimise operations. The execution of Supply Chain strategy, understanding how the elements integrate & the risks/rewards associated with the integration. Understanding of the concept of activity based costing models, & the primary factors that impact on supply chain complexity & how these impacts on costs.
Risk Management:
Managing commercial, reputation, supply chain, ethical & other risks associated with the procurement process to ensure that undesirable consequences of the risks are mitigated. As well as market knowledge & commercial acumen, an understanding of technical integrity assurance & the HSE Management Expectations is particularly valuable. Elements of Risk Management: HSE Assessment / Financial Assessment / Market Analysis / Operational Continuity / Strategic Impact on Business / Brand Values / Ethical Conduct.
Negotiation Skills:
Identifies & agrees division of value & risk with third parties. Plans the negotiating strategy, utilising appropriate approach eg leverage, identifying the risks, & developing options to close a negotiation successfully. Uses a wide range of influencing styles and persuasion techniques in order to successfully execute negotiations with third parties. Can act as a leader or team member in negotiations.
Finance for Procurement:
Undertaking a meaningful financial appraisal & assessment of risk within a market & utilising this information in planning, control & decision making. An ability to understand costing methods & cost make-up & analyse financial information as part of Procurement strategy. There is a requirement to interpret financial ratios & the interrelationships of financial statements, etc. to assist with the creation of appropriate conclusions. Conduct economic & financial analysis & ensure models provide insight into make or buy decisions & price negotiation strategies. Monitor & ensure compliance with Financial & Finance-related Corporate & Company policy, & statutory regulations. Monitor customers’ & suppliers’ business/trading situation to avoid bad risks.
Contract Management:
Establishing robust contract management systems. Successful contract management will add value to the contract delivery by providing review & feedback, assessing contractual compliance by both parties, establishing appropriate & effective key performance indicators, managing any disputes in a timely, appropriate and effective manner, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, & liaising with stakeholders to ensure that their business needs are met & developed.
Supply Base Analysis:
Evaluation of suppliers & supply markets that are consistent with market sector strategies: that is, to ensure appropriate alignment between the supplier & client. Management of appropriate supply base analysis processes, Identification & implementation of optimal supplier selection processes. Utilisation of tools & technology where appropriate, for example Porter's Five Forces, PESTLE.
Customer / Client Management:
Determine & implement appropriate management of internal relationships, utilising stakeholder mapping. Awareness of the importance of working in cross-functional teams as an aid for decision-making.
