The Parts Commodity Manager – China must Define and execute the strategy for the supply base within China, responsible for all aspects relating to the Part Purchasing such as budget, managing supplier relationships, ensuring on time delivery, proper quality, driving cost reduction, be the purchasing interface for the Parts team to support new business opportunities etc.

1. Lead the development and execution of cost reduction strategies; utilizing applicable tools such as supplier negotiation, VA/VE, market testing, development of best-cost-country suppliers, within the cross functional teams (engineering, platform, quality, aftermarket, logistics, etc.).

2. Coordinate within the APAC and Global Parts team to drive global product cost reduction through utilization of China supplybase.

3. Defining specific supplier strategy for parts in line with business plan in leisure with parts sales and marketing

4. Supervise, coach, develop and train the buyers assigned by encouraging team work, ensuring the highest possible standards and the achievement of the assigned purchasing objectives. Makes adjustments within the team considering workload and opportunities to achieve the highest level of attainment.

5. Finalizes contracts with suppliers and internal organizations on such matters as minimums, lead times, quality rejections, price changes, sample approvals, and other Purchasing matters to ensure overhead costs are minimized and maximum value is received.

6. Keeps abreast of market conditions, new developments and techniques of manufacture for assigned commodities

7. Is the purchasing interface for the Parts team to support new business opportunities and support suppliers delivery issues

Requirements:

1. Minimum 6 years’ experience managing a commodity or parts purchasing or other relevant experience

2. Familiarity with part business in China for AG and/or CE

3. Strong negotiation skills, ability to align cross functional stakeholders to a shared goal

4. Excellent communication skills; good analytical and problem solving skills

5. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; master's degree preferred

6. Fluent in English and Mandarin

7. Ability to travel 5-10%
