About Our Client


Our client is Romax Technology, a private UK company focusing on software development and engineering consulting. With 250 employees around the globe Romax Technology is covering over 40 specialisms across process improvement, design, analysis, testing and manufacturing. The company has developed the reputation of the market leader by creating the software and consulting expertise in design and analysis of mechanical and electromechanical transmissions in the automotive, aerospace, wind, marine and rail sectors.


As the leading provider of software and consulting solutions for rotating & electric machinery, Romax is looking to further penetrate Eastern China market and hire a Senior BD Manager to boost the business in Shanghai area. The job will require solid experience in developing the business with automotive clients OEMs and suppliers, especially in Electric Vehicle market.


Job Description


As a senior Business Development Manager you would be expected to make continuous efforts in covering new sales leads, attracting new clients and passing the projects to the Sales team while supporting the Company's goals and values and aiming to establish an excellent working relationship with assigned customers.


More specific responsibilities of Business Development specialist will include:



  • To drive personal business strategy and growth initiatives within China to reach individual annual sales target, assigned by the Regional Management;

  • Develop the clients and pass the projects to the supporting Sales Team;

  • Monitor progress and effectively use tools & reporting to forecast performance potential;

  • Develop strong personal relationships with sellers and identify areas for seller growth;

  • To participate actively in global sales events & forums internally and externally to enhance regional influence;

  • To expand the business patch and regional coverage;

  • To develop customer strategies and manage the sales force to build influential & satisfying relationships with customers at all levels to win profitable business from those customers;

The Successful Applicant


Successful candidate profile should include:



  • 5-8 years' experience in automotive sector, targeting OEMs / Tier 1 suppliers, especially in Electric Vehicle market;

  • Engineering Consulting or Software sales background, understanding of value-added solution sales;

  • Solid experience in Business Development and New Client Acquisition.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level;

  • Open to high travel rate, well engaged in exhibition and networking events;

  • Commercial mind set and ability to prioritise;

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills;

  • Mature mindset, patient and motivation for the long run;

  • Solid technical background as well as fluency in both Mandarin and English is required;
