Function:
To execute and facilitate metrology related activities for development projects and to work within the methods and procedures of the metrology lab. Primary responsibilities include Inspection Program Creation and Troubleshooting, Gage R&R Studies, Capability Measurements and other necessary studies within a development protocol in delivering capable metrology to manufacturing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or University and 1-3 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Exposure to product drawings that include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.
3. Ability to collect and manipulate data, through the extensive use of computers, for use in Gage R&R Studies, Capability Studies, DOEs, etc.
4. Should have knowledge and skills using:
· Internet software
· Project Management software (Microsoft Project)
· Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel)
· Word Processing software (Microsoft Word)
· Presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint)
· Measurement System Analysis (preferable)
· Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (preferable)
5. Familiarity with making measurements using standard mechanical methods (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, toolmaker's microscopes, etc.) and willingness to learn how to use Vision CMMs (i.e. OGP Smartscope, Mitutoyo QuickVision, etc.)
6. Ability to read, write, analyze, and present technical documents and procedures.
7. Ability to provide updates on project status where issues or problems can be reviewed, discussed, and resolved based on the requirements of immediate supervision.
8. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, engineers and manufacturing site representatives via business correspondence formal papers, reports and/or procedural manuals
9. Ability to communicate and relate well with engineers in the organization.
