Supervisory Responsibilities (if any):
· Client Managers, Technical and Audit Specialists, functioning in both direct and indirect reporting roles.

· Accountable for contributing to the development and achievement of Product Services China program by ensuring that, as the Team Leader, all strategic, financial and other objectives are met through the appropriate development & implementation of strategy and policy and the effective management of human resources.

· Leading the China Product Services group to implement strategic and tactical plans in marketing, sales, business development, with a major focus on client retention activities to achieve financial targets whilst ensuring the effective management, deployment and development of appropriate resources.

1.Leadership Focus
Recruitment of Staff
· Recruit staff of a high calibre. That is, ensure staff have the necessary skills and experience required to perform the role to the satisfaction of the business.
Provide Feedback and Reward Appropriately
· Using the company Annual Performance Review process:
- Ensure annual objectives are set for all staff
- Performance reviews are completed on time and overall performance ratings accurately reflect performance
- salary increases/bonuses reflect contribution of individuals
- Proactively manage under performers
2.Strategic Focus
· Ensure that SAI Global Product Certification and Testing programs are market leaders
· Provide input and leadership into developing a China Product Services strategy with input and coordination with other regions. Once developed and approved, implement into the local market to enable global and local growth.
· Develop and drive strategic and tactical plans in client retention activities to achieve revenue objectives.
· Maintain a high level of market awareness of companies, regulators and professional bodies in order to monitor needs, practices, trends and opportunities.
· Identification of new markets and opportunities to enable growth within markets not currently serviced.
3. Operational Focus
· Direct responsibility for Product Services China budgeting and achievement of the agreed outcomes.
· Manage applications, including application reviews, process to submission, certification and testing
· Ensure all technical reviews and management are conducted, including endorsements, non-conformance management, audit report reviews and approvals
· Undertake where appropriate, audits, witness testing and sample selection
· Instigate and monitor the implementation of corrective actions where maintenance of accreditation is threatened.
· Develop and maintain programs, including documentation, testing and accreditation.
· Review and approve Competency Codes allocated to auditing staff.
· Review and approve audit reports.
· Monitor continuing compliance of certified products.
· Manage and oversee (including product recalls) non-conformances that are raised within Client Managers.
· Evaluate, where appropriate, products and test reports against requirements of the appropriate standard and the Trade Practices Act.
·Oversee the preparation or amendment of Technical Schedules applicable to particular standards in liaison with the Testing and Technical Manager and, where necessary, representatives from industry, regulatory authorities and testing authorities
·Represent SAI Global on applicable Standards Committees and provide technical input regarding acceptance criteria, testing, industry capability and costs.
· Participate, as necessary, as a representative in relevant industry forums, standards writing committees, international and national programs and seminars including, as necessary, the preparation and delivery of papers
·Ensure that all OH&S regulations and requirements are met to ensure the safety of all site personnel and security of the site
4.Cross Functional Focus
· Work with other areas of Product Services to ensure customer service, sales and delivery functions deliver a high quality client experience including systematic evaluation of client satisfaction.
· Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and divisions to achieve maximum results for SAI Global clients.
Education / Professional Qualifications & Experience Required:
· A business degree in business administration or appropriate commercial discipline
· Direct experience in a professional services environment is mandatory.
· Experience in the provision of Technical/ Certification programs in a commercial context is an advantage.
· Demonstrated aptitude to lead new business and new market development efforts in a highly competitive niche market
· Experience in management of subject matter experts and external contributors
· Demonstrated leadership and performance management experience
· Outstanding project management and teamwork skills
· High level oral and written communication skills
