职位描述


Responsibility
Product Development Engineering
1. Lead product engineering team to cooperate with U.S. Operating Companies to develop office furniture products (primarily office chairs) to be manufactured in China/Taiwan for the U.S. market
2. Direct technical design of new products.
3. Prepare cost estimates affected by design changes and supervises the design of labor-saving equipment. As required, investigates new sources for raw materials, and the handling of licensing agreements.
4. Conduct investigations directed toward standardization of product parts or components.
5. Investigate and approve use of substitute parts or materials.
6. Initiate patent activity to protect new products.
7. Establish stress, weight and quality specifications.
8. Approve material and process specifications and investigates service engineering problems.
9. Recommend capital expenditures along with sales and production methods for new products
10. Keep abreast of new developments, materials or processes for use in adaptations to organization products
11. Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products
12. Coordinate design activities with those of other divisions
CAD Services
1. Lead CAD team to effectively execute CAD outsourcing work from U.S. Operating Companies
Others
1. Establish and maintain effective SOPs for the Engineering Center
2. Perform any other responsibility and/or tasks that the reporting superior assigns
Requirements
1. Education and Training - The Product Engineering Manager should have a four year technical degree, preferably in a field that offers as opportunity to gain a well rounded background. Additional class work in management type courses and problem-solving techniques is preferred.
2. Technical Requirements - Three or more years of broad technical experience, of which at least two years should be product management or product engineering. Office furniture, similar or related fields is a plus.
3. Managerial Experience - Three or more years experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities. These experiences should be gained in areas of engineering or technical operations and should include a minimum of two years in product/engineering management.
4. Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese is required; Experience working directly with U.S. product engineers is a plus
5. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills; Positive, proactive and responsible attitude; and able to prioritize work, lead change, handle multiple projects simultaneously, set goals and drive execution
