PRIMARY FUNCTION
Supports Protecting the Target Brand and is Guest focused. Reinforces Target business goals and objectives in partnership with TCPS HQ, cross functional team partners, and vendor/factories. Achieves company's overall vision, mission, values and priorities by validating that our vendor partners operate efficient, safe and ethical factory environments, producing safe and reliable quality product in line with the most current Target and US/Canada Safety and Regulatory requirements. Provides product and manufacturing expertise to ensure timely and quality execution.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team and Self Development
? Facilitates the team's vision, building a strong team spirit and a Fast, Fun and Friendly environment.

? Ensures oversight and drives effectiveness of the OnBoarding process and ensures team members are properly trained with both technical and leadership skills as necessary to be successful in their respective jobs.

? Coaches, motivates and develops direct reports as well as the team.
? Manages and reviews the performance of the team, assessing potential for growth and identifying career path and succession planning.
? Manages knowledge sharing activities with cross functional team partners as well as within the team.
? Holds self and team accountable to performance measures and system requirements, leveraging tools and reporting made available.
? Demonstrates the ability to achieve objectives through their teams.
? Celebrates team and organizational success.
Business Management
? Assures established strategic direction to inspection offices for achieving individual or team goals and balances time, resources to achieve these.
? Actively implements globally standardized and consistent processes to facilitate efficient and effective best methods.
? Addresses and resolves problems by utilizing the appropriate tools and resources and partnering with the appropriate parties to ensure products meet Target objectives, and regulatory and safety standards.
? Determines productivity and overall effectiveness of inspection office resources to ensure adequate staffing and provision of efficient execution of directives, programs and fulfillment of business/market needs.
? Utilizes available tools and reports to manage daily operations and ensure team members adherence to integrity and protecting the Target Brand.
? Supports compliance and C-TPAT with all social and governmental requirements within factories.
? Ensures teams are focused on a "Best for Guest" culture.
? Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve processes.
Specific to Social Compliance (SC):
? Develops a working knowledge of the specific country / province laws and regulations for workers around the world where Target Owned Brand product is produced.
? Acquires and shares in depth knowledge of countries within region of responsibility.
Vendor/Factory Management
? Advocates leadership defined strategies to hold all parties accountable for operational excellence and consistency in accordance with Target and US/Canada safety & regulatory requirements.
? Partners with cross functional teams to provide technical expertise to monitor and validate all quality assurance requirements are communicated and comprehended during development, negotiation, placement and production phases.
? Assesses vendors/ factories for overall performance, sustainability in quality execution, and capacities and capabilities in line with the most current US/Canada Safety and Regulatory requirements.
? Supports OnBoarding of new vendor/factories in partnership with cross functional teams, ensuring consistent compliance to Target requirements.
? Ensures regular vendors/factories performance reviews, utilizing tools to identify defect trends, application of root cause and preventative actions as well as adherence to continuous improvement by vendor/factory to ensure measurable improvement.
Financial
? Implements and ensures expense planning management of budgets for all areas of responsibility.
? Manages timely, organized and equitable workload distribution and scheduling to maximize time, equipment and manpower resources through a centralized process for all Quality Assurance/SC events [as applicable to role].
? QA: Factory Evaluations; Placement and Pre-Production Meetings and inspections
? SC: Factory Audits, Designated trainings
? Manages accountability of expenses and ensures proper authorization pre and post travel.
? Utilizes tools to ensure awareness of company performance and shares this with the teams.
Communication
? Anticipates and meets the need for information of key stakeholders, synthesizes complex information, and communicates the right amount of detail.
? Acts as a liaison between TCPS HQ, Vendor/Factory partners and cross functional team partners.
? Ensures transparency and support of team through escalation process when required for speedy resolution.
? Communicates information and facilitates the open exchange of viewpoints.
? Actively shares knowledge with HQ TCPS team and cross functional team partners on country specific regulations related to products and factories.
Brand management
? Ensures compliance of all Target standards.
? Ensures the work environment is Fast, Fun and Friendly.
? Behaves everyday with integrity and trust.
? Promotes TSS focus areas and Target' Vision, Mission and Values.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
? 4 year University degree or equivalent, preferably scientific / engineering discipline
? Minimum 4 years in supervisory/management capacity with similar operational scope and complexity;
? 4-6 years production; quality assurance and/or social compliance experience
? Experience with a US or European based corporation
? In depth knowledge of US/Canada regulatory and safety requirements (QA)
? In depth knowledge of US /Canada Social Compliance requirements (SC)
? Excellent leadership/interpersonal skills
? Excellent communication skills in English and local office language
? Strategic thinking and ability to plan; organize and execute
? Result orientated, self motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic
? Committed to continuous learning
? Ability to travel locally and/or internationally
? Ability to line balance/recognize production bottle necks and provide guidance for corrective action
? Ability to engineer an operation to optimize output and maintain consistent quality
? Understanding of statistical analysis including AQL inspection techniques
? Ability to perceive and differentiate between colors
? Ability to use Microsoft applications
