JOB SUMMARY:
This role will be responsible for maintaining agreed upon service levels of Basic sand NOS product through forecasting inventory and future demand and anticipated sales velocity. The ideal candidate for this role possesses proven analytical and problem solving skills, and is comfortable working independently towards-set deliverable. The candidate must also possess strong Excel skills and quickly learn excel-based tools or systems related to performance or product management data.
Responsibilities include:
- Own and manage support of basics and Vendor Managed Inventory programs to include overseeing systems and tools,developing and delivering comprehensive training materials and programs, and providing end user support for cross functional teams.
- Own and manage individual projects or components of larger initiatives, specifically issue identification, data analysis, process / tool definition and implementation planning
- Create qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess areas of opportunity
- Build relationships across Inventory Management, Merchandising, Production and other business functions to deliver timely and appropriate solutions
- Deliver formal presentations and training across all levels of organization
- Additionally, this role will assist ongoing projects from the Product Operations and Strategy team and support the Retail Analysts as needed on work around pricing, markdown management, and allocation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own Basics sales and inventory forecasts to the Dept and Class Level by Market.
- Build strong networks with x-function product teams including merchandising,inventory management, and eCommerce.
- Use input from the tops-down process and merchandising to understand direction of Basics
- Determine ideal service levels for different Basics product based on product life-cycle and seasonality and decide timing and quantity of receipts needed in order to meet service levels while minimizing excessive inventory
- Coordinate with merchandising to ensure requested Basics units are ordered and received in a timely manner
- Coordinate with inventory management.to ensure planned Basics are accurately rolled up into seasonal plans
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
· Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate business indicators and translate data into actionable results.
· Problem Solving and Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous analytical methods to solve to complex issues.
· Analytics: Strong analytical experience and proficiency with data analysis and statistics, including developing excel models and forecasting tools from scratch
· Influencing, Negotiation, and Collaboration: Able to build effective relationships with adverse group of business partners. Can present ideas and directions that lead others to take action and can train and develop teammates
· Scope: Proven ability to manage large amounts of data, purchase orders, and CC/ sku count and understand performance data and seasonality to create accurate demand forecasts
· Familiar with all retail math calculations (Sales,APS, weeks-on-hand, % committed, Store on hand, etc.).
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and ability to navigate through various merchandising systems and tools. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint and Visio
· Fluent in both Mandarin and English Languages
2) Minimum Education Level
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
3) Experience Required
· Experience or interest in the retail and apparel industry
· Combination of relevant industry and management consulting experience preferred
· Experience gathering and documenting process and tool requirements
· 4 – 6 years of buying, planning, forecasting, and supply chain or inventory management experience.
· 1 - 2 years managing others.
