The Role description
The COMPANY seeks to recruit a Project Procurement & Controls Manager for Isolation Valves. This position manages sourcing activities related to key customer projects, works closely with Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations to ensure the best products and supplier performance following SQDCC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash) through whole project stage – from quotation to the delivery to customer. The position has crucial role to improve the HIT RATE and Profitability on Projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Project Management
Partner with Project Managers to ensure comprehensive procurement plans to ensure on time delivery of project orders.
Run sourcing processes by negotiating commercial terms and conditions with preferred suppliers: price lists, discounts, rebates, payment terms, lead time, delivery frequency, contracts, mitigate price increase requests etc. within the delegation of authority DOA and decision making authority of company
Lead the supplier selection and negotiation for key customer projects in close collaboration with Project &Order Managers and Category Managers
Contribute actively to quote conversion and margin uplift on key customer projects through incremental negotiation (QDCC) with preferred and qualified suppliers
Ensure reliability of supply. Track commercial compliance and address when necessary. Leverage supplier performance metrics for actions like resourcing and exiting under performing suppliers
Be point of escalation for the Tactical purchasing team and Operations for recurring and escalated supplier performance issues like Deliveries and Quality, support local needs as local liaison between Principal and site(s).
Support New Product Development (NPD), Introduction (NPI) and Customer projects
2. Category Management
Execute Controls category strategies to deploy the strategic plans to achieve annual net 5% savings, build a funnel of projects worth 8-10% savings and support 25% contribution from VA/VE
Initiate and follow up Supplier Lean Development (SLD) activities with key suppliers to support suppliers to drive improvements in productivity, performance, service, reliability and processes
Provide inputs into and promote the Categories strategies, its Levers (Manage Spend, Leverage Competition among suppliers, Change Nature of Demand, Seek Joint
Advantage with Supplier) and its Methods (e.g.: best cost country sourcing, reverse auctions, supply base consolidation, should cost models, etc.)
Follow the guidance and use the templates from the supplier development framework to set expectations and conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers. Broaden and deepen the relationships with key suppliers while driving innovation and executing
Provide input to the Category Managers for the development and execution of respective Category strategies
Ensure financial analysis and make vs. buy models are utilized correctly using a Total Cost of Ownership approach for business cases and to accurate reporting of value.
3. Support
Support Project Managers to ensure on time delivery of project orders
Support the Supply site(s) scorecard process for on time delivery, working capital & quality improvement
Support regulatory compliance within the supply base such as Conflict Minerals, REACH and RoHS
4. Accountability and Metrics:
On time project delivery of project orders to suppliers
Category cost reduction, Inflation mitigation and Working capital improvement
Quote Conversion and Margin Uplift
Supplier performance improvement, including but not limited to quality, lead-times, deliver frequency and on-time delivery from vendors
Savings Funnel as % of Spend
Inputs to AOP and Budget
Supply Base rationalization
Data and reporting accuracy; on time within financial deadlines
Develop and execute Sourcing plans for Engineering to Order, Repetitive business, After Market/MRO, New Product Development & Introduction and customer projects.
The Candidate Profile
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent in Engineering, Finance, Operations, Technical or Business.
5-7 years functional experience in one or more of the following areas is needed: Supply, Engineering, or Operations. Workingexperience in a manufacturing environmentand valves industries should bepreferred.
Extensive project management experience in a complex organization
Proven change management experience in a global organization
Experience in managing supplier development
5+ years of proven negotiation experience
Experience in working with BCC supply base
Good understanding of the respective industry and supply base and key cost drivers
Personality traits and practical experience
Fluent in English and the local language of the plant(s) scope of responsibility. Additional language advantageous
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills and ability to work multi-dimensionally in a complex business matrixed environment
Strong ability to influence upward, peer-wide, and downward;
Strong managerial courage and ability to work through resistance and pushback to change
Self- driven personality;
High level of integrity
Ability to deal with different levels of the multi-cultural organization; to effectively communicate to a diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, operations, engineering and supply chain management.
