Position summary:
IBM CDL cloud infrastructure and service team has needs for senior engineers to help building world class hybrid cloud which has thousands virtual systems. We are growing our teams in Beijing and Shanghai and are looking for experienced technical professional to develop Ring Cloud infrastructure and service. The candidates will have opportunity to work with IBM global cloud expert to adopt up-to-date cloud computing technical into current hybrid cloud environments. Apart from infrastructure maintenance, infrastructure optimization and L2 support, the candidates will also be responsible for new solution design & deployment, cloud capacity & utilization management. Since we're service team, the candidates should have good communication skill and service oriented understanding.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Perform architecture reviews, design reviews, help L1/L2 trouble shooting and solution optimization, and work closely with L1 engineers to give necessary guidance.
Research and implement new practices, tools, and technologies to increase service availability, stability and reliability.
Work with cross-function teams to ensure parallel project requirement meet hybrid cloud service improvement strategy.
Involve with BU/Function team requirement analysis and provide professional proposal and solution.
Provide leadership and expertise in daily deployment, maintenance and optimization tasks.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences):
Bachelor's degree or above, Computer Science or equivalent
5+ years IT industry experiences and broad knowledge on IT infrastructure
Strong foundation in Cloud/Virtualization and Service Management
In-depth experience with KVM/VMware vSphere/IBM Power hypervisor/Openstack/CloudStack are highly desired
Strong IT operational background /experience in infrastructure maintenance
Enough Power system, xSeries server, Storage and network device maintenance experience are highly desired
Experience dealing with cloud reliability, stability, availability and serviceability requirements in IAAS environment, preferred
Experience in Cloud management, customer handling, risk management and impact analysis
Strong analytical, summary, troubleshooting /problem solving skills, attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Have passion for learning and innovation
Good teamwork player, a must
Ability to work in a matrix environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
In-depth understanding about ITIL is a plus
Experience in ITM/TPM/System Director/IWD/SDE is a plus
Experience in one or more of the following areas is plus: storage (RAID, LVM, SAN, file system tuning, etc.), IP networking (bonding, bridging, switching, etc.), cloud computing - provisioning, PXE, DHCP, DNS, Nginx, Apache, LDAP
