GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager- Event & Landlord Relations, aspart of the Marketing team, He/She will be required to understand the globalbrand positioning of Gap, Gap Outlet and Old Navy brands and be able to balancethat understanding with the needs of the local market. He/She will has theability to discern what types of events and mall marketing resources willsupport /enhance the positioning, giving the Brand a competitive advantage inthe marketplace.

As the Event & Landlords Manager, He/She is responsiblefor understanding the seasonal produce messages to help concept seasonal pressevent ideas. He/She is responsible for working with Landlords in specialsupport from mall to help drive extra traffic to our stores.

The candidate will partner with the domestic Marketing team,key internal business partners and cross-functional teams, and externalmarketing agencies or strategic partnership as appropriate.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively develops strategy/ demonstrates strategic thinking in building annual plans and timelines throughout the year
  • Sources and selects event agencies and various production vendors in execution of events and customer appreciation activities
  • Responsible for working with Real Estate team and individual mall/ store landlords for securing support(e.g. ad space or promotional activity) for new stores
  • Responsible for working with internal teams and external agencies on creation and execution of store hoardings prior to their openings
  • Negotiates costs in production and execution of events and mall marketing to ensure that all is within budget
  • Works closely with Store Operations and Field to ensure that store engagement and mall marketing resources are executed flawlessly and consistently across the fleet
  • Responsible for developing traffic driving programs on the store level that align with overall market promotional plans, are brand appropriate, and also motivating for the target customer
  • Works with Senior Director in development of launch event strategy and concept of brand entry events and activities
  • Owns all aspects of execution for brand entry events and activities into key markets
  • Develops and executes guerillamarketing ideas to support business objectives and needs to bring awareness andbuzz for Gap, Gap Outlet and Old Navy in brand appropriate ways
  • Aggressively manages budgetson all event activities whilst maintaining high standards


REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS:


1) Requiredknowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Initiative: Ability toindependently identify and capitalize on business opportunities, an agileself-starter, results-orientated, and able to deal with ambiguity.
  • Leadership: Proven track record ofleading cross-functional teams and complicated projects.
  • Influence: Ability to influenceacross the organization, including senior management.
  • Communication: Strong oral andwritten communication skills.
  • Analysis: Strong analytical andresearch skills, combined with sound business judgment.
  • Creativity: Ability to generatecreative ideas from analysis.
  • Consumer Insight: Ability to bethe “voice of the consumer”.
  • Brand: An understanding of the Gapinc. brands (including aesthetic and taste level).
  • Relationships: Proven experienceand ability to work cross-functionally
  • Intellectual Horsepower: Abilityto apply strategic thinking to Brand Marketing and business results.
  • Cultural: An ability to interactwith people in different cultures in a way that promotes understanding, and isrespectful and effective.
  • Language: Chinese (mandarin) &English language and/or knowledge of Chinese culture and consumer behavior inMainland/Hong Kong/ Taiwan would be highly advantageous.
  • Passion: For Retail!

2) MinimumEducation Level

  • Bachelor degree.

3) ExperienceRequired

  • 5+ years of Event Management, Consumeror Retail Marketing experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods, retailor cosmetics.
  • Experience with dealing with mallsin terms of marketing assets and program are a plus.
