Job Responsibilities
1. Implements quality system procedures and recommends improvements, interacts with team members to achieve daily and long term goals; ensures procedures are followed
2. Develop quality initiatives to attain and maintain customer satisfaction and focus. Supports the suppliers on quality activities such as Control Plan, FMEA, Process Capability Study, MSA, and Checklist, etc.
3. Provides technical expertise to purchasing function
4. Serve as liaison between the supplier and Briggs and Stratton in quality activities which may include presenting quality trend data for the purpose on informing and problem solving. Work with the suppliers on corrective action report and verify its effectiveness
5. Participate in supplier development activities and interactions with suppliers, implementing corrective action & improving control plans
6. Prepare and provide data analysis of finished product and consumer complaint issues and recommend implementation of corrective and preventative actions for supplier improvement and elimination of defects, follow-up process improvement(s) as needed
7. Perform supplier PPAP and get the PPAP approved by the project team
8. Complete Suppliers’ Process Audit and Key Product Audit and Key Product Audit according to the plan, and follow up with the improvement plan
9. Perform other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
1. Good knowledge of quality practices and procedures including Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO/QS requirements
2. Good knowledge of quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Plans, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, MSA, Design of Experiments, etc.
3. Demonstrates knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as well as blueprint reading
4. Proficient in mechanical or electronics or assembly manufacturing process with good command of trouble-shooting skill
5. Proven ability to prepare and interpret technical information
6. Good interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, ability to solve practical problems and quality issues/problems
7. Good English skills (oral & writing communications)
Educational Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related technical field or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
1. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in quality, engineering field, fundamental quality experience in machining or assembly type operations or equivalent experience preferred
Certifications
1. Related professional certification or black belt preferred
