SUMMARY

The objective of this position is to lead Safety, Health, and Environmental activities for Plant Zhuhai, to ensure that the plant and associated facilities meet all country, regional, local and company S.H.E regulations and standards.

How you will impact Company

Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety & environmental laws and regulations, hazardous-condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
Ensure that all workers adhere to the requirements identified in the safety plan.
Perform project work oversight – provide on-sight expertise and active on-site surveillance; lead safety meetings, review JSA and permits and be prepared to step in and shut down work if required. Evaluate safety programs and make improvements.
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, environmental incidents and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
Perform risk/hazard assessment and work with operations or project engineers to write and build a project safety management plan and detail mitigation for addressing all risks.
Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long term strategic safety planning and development.
Provide effective training for all safety programs including but not limited to lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, powered industrial vehicle safety, hazard communications, personal protective equipment requirements, electrical safety, confined space safety, respiratory protection, and safety on walking and working surfaces.
Prepare & submit all environmental regulatory reports.
Develop & implement a site Industrial Hygiene plan.
Coordinate all site environmental & Industrial Hygiene testing.
Conduct the inspections of firefighting system to ensure firefighting equipment work well.
Submit the required regulatory report of firefighting system and safety facilities.
Supporting operation team at suppliers SHE compliance audit and hazard chemicals management/procurement.
Be responsible for new project SHE permitting achievement (EIA/SIA/ODIA/firefighting/ Lighting) and acceptance.
Be responsible for company certificates renew such as “Waste Discharging Permit”, “Waste Water Discharging Permit” and so on.
Contribute for Operational Stewardship Implement in Zhuhai Plant.
Take a lead at Responsible Care promotion in Zhuhai Plant.
Perform other duties as assigned

 What you need to succeed
Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental and Occupational Science preferred.
5+years’ of safety and health experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Prefer experience in the chemicals processing industry.
2+ years of managerial experience;
Ability to analyze data, convey findings and implement action plans.
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. English and Chinese.
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills. Ability to foster solid relationships within the facility while achieving key operating objectives as it relates to health and safety.
Ability to implement new processes and to motivate others to comply with change initiatives.
