Strategy

? Be commercially aware at all times and make recommendation to reduce costs wherever they occur in the supply chain.
? Negotiate costs and trading terms with factories as directed by the Group Packaging Manager.
? Develop close relationships with all Far East Factories to ensure that they produce goods in accordance with the Butters Group purchase order and specifications ensuring on time despatches.
? In conjunction with the Group Packaging Manager develop a seamless system to control the transport and shipping of containers from the Far East to ensure that all despatches are on time
? Working with the Group Packaging Manager and Group Development Manager to maintain and improve the quality of Hardware received on site.
? Together with the Group Technical Manager, Group Packaging Manager and Group Development Manager evaluate and advise on new sources of supply, product, and potential new factories.
? Negotiate direct with factories any claims through to completion.


Method
? Manage the day to day communication with all factories ensuring that all queries are dealt with quickly ensuring that all orders are shipped on time.
? Liaise with the Far East Compliance Manager to ensure that factory visits to QC orders prior to despatch are conducted in the most cost effective and timely way.
? Send QC reports to all relevant people at Butters Group.
? Ensure that accurate records are kept of the improvements and are communicated to all stakeholders on a regular basis.
? Negotiate claims for products supplied which do not reach the required specification in terms of quality.
? In conjunction with the Far East Compliance Manager facilitate trips to the Far East for all visits by Butters Group staff as well as its customers. Organizing, managing, and accompanying where required.
? Suggest improvements to products and their specifications where required.

? Work with Group Development Manager and Group Packaging Manager to suggest and arrange sourcing trips to any relevant fairs / shows.
? To be involved with the negotiation of strategic products / contracts.


Supplier Focus
? Monitor and measure the performance of our suppliers in terms of quality
? Ensure that suppliers are kept fully briefed and up to date in terms of feedback regarding their compliance status and overall in terms of quality.
? Communicate all product information when under specification product is produced in the business.
? Negotiate any claims as requested by the Group Packaging Manager.



Customer Focus

? The key communication links with this position are: Group Packaging Manager, Far East Compliance Manager, Group Technical Manager, and Group Development Manager.
? Work with the Managers to maximise the profitable development of the business through all aspects of the commercial mix including product range and development, sales and marketing opportunities.
? Report weekly activity by means of a weekly report and Skype call to Group Packaging Manager.
