SUMMARY: The Sr. Sourcing and Development Manager will support Sourcing, Technical Product Development, and Production / Operations activities for the Bags and Technical Packs Business Unit. This candidate will be accountable for collaborating in the execution of both short term and long term sourcing / product development / supply chain strategies for the Bags category. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for seamless execution of established product roadmaps for Bags (on time, at cost, and at approved quality level). The Sr. Sourcing and Development Manager will furthermore contribute to all business unit strategic projects, such as operational excellence metrics tracking and improvement, productivity savings, and lead time reductions. The Sr. Sourcing and Development Manager will supervise Technical Developers, Production Coordinators, and maintain close dotted line reporting relationships with Bags Quality Auditors and Material Technical Development partners as well as UA manufacturing partners to ensure all margin, development, quality and production targets are being 100% met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.
? Support the creation and execution of Short Term and Long Term Strategic Plans for Bags
? Direct strategic costing conversations and negotiations with regional UA factory partners including quotation validation and negotiations
? Ensures Vendor Operational Excellence for on time delivery , product integrity, margin
? Drive new Vendor identification and qualification globally
? Seamless Execution of established product roadmaps according to cost, quality, and delivery targets set by Product Team
? Identifies ways to enhance margin, reduce defective returns, increase factory productivity and sustain results
? Is an innovative source of ideas and competitive intelligence to the UA Product Management and Design team through working with related vendors and with UA factory partners
? Applies and develops major technologies to advance bag product integrity and innovation
? Is aware and understands bags industry trends and standards and uses this information to develop and drive strategy
? Ensures all products are developed in accordance with design and margin requirements while maintaining an emphasis on performance and integrity
? Partners with Sales, Marketing, Product, Design, and Planning to create and execute product commercialization calendars
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
? To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ? Candidate must be able to travel to factories regularly. Primary travel will be Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and US Global Headquarters
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
? 15-20 years of experience working in in bags or textile industry.
? Ample knowledge in bags manufacturing process and technologies ( bags fabric, cut & sew process, trims and mold ) is a plus
? Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred
? Strong experience in product development, supply chain management or global sourcing with a strong focus on project and vendor management
? Demonstrated experience leading and successfully executing multi-phase strategic initiatives globally
? Experience with supply / demand planning, inventory management, or demonstrated track record in statistical base forecasting and scheduling a plus
? Exceptional liaison with global experience leading, influencing, and training multi-nationals
? Acute attention to detail
? Disciplined approach to product commercialization
? Excellent oral and written communication skills with focus on email / conference communication with overseas / off-site sources
? Strong organizational skills with multitasking capabilities and excellent problem-solving skills demonstrating an ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of large to very large scope and complexity, often creating or revising company policies in the process
? Ability to work well with and lead others in a cross-functional team environment
? Strong sense of self-initiative and management
? Must be capable of managing priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives. Ability to perform structured decision-making on a daily basis without sacrificing strategic objectives.
? Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
? Knowledge and experience in product lifecycle management systems
? Strong knowledge of SAP or other similar enterprise wide MRP system
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
? Excellent English skills. Should have at least 7-10 years’ experience in working with a multi-national company.
? Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence in Chinese and English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from their counterparts at UA HQ, their team mates, factory partners, various groups of vendor representatives, clients, customers and the general public.

? Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
