Head of Ocean Freight Shenzhen海运总监

Working Location: Golden Business Centre, Shenzhen, China

工作地点：深圳市深南东路罗湖商务中心

Responsibilities:

- Reporting to Business Unit Manager, he/she will be responsible to lead a team of 50 members and to ensure smooth operations, both in compliance and corporate guidelines to grow business

- P&L Owner of Ocean Freight Department, and accountable for the smooth and effective process flow, interfaces and adherence to the defined quality standards

- Develop and define a long-term network plan which fits the network and the Panalpina standard requirements

- Define key suppliers together with Procurement and Business Unit Shenzhen, establish long-term relationships and negotiate long-term contracts

- Ensure smooth communication with other departments and the Business Unit Manager Shenzhen and represent the own department towards internal and external stakeholders

- Support the substitutes to supervise and optimize the capacity utilization of the existing network in respect of operational and financial aspects of the Company’s interests perspective

- Forecast and analyse volume and capacity on a Business Unit level of own department

- Establish and review procedures and manuals for all entities within the Ocean Freight Department

- Runwen defined projects within the own department cost consciously and according to the defined timeline

- Design, implement and monitor service performance quality reporting within the own department (Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including quality control and initiate corrective measures

- Support, review and control overall cost as well as giving instructions to issue invoices

- Vendor / subcontractor management

- Coach, train and provide guidelines on employees’ performance and matters

Requirements:

- At least 10 years of ocean freight operational experience in global freight forwarding / logistics company

- Proven experience to manage a Ocean Freight Operations to own profitability and issues resolution are a must

- Knowledgeable and high exposure in NVOCC is a must

- Ability to manage operation and control cost / resources within own entity, work close with Business Units Managers and also to influence internal and external stakeholders

- Able to work in a diverse environment and cultures

- Excellent communication, leadership and people management

- Degree holder in Business Administration / Logistics or equivalent
