Role of translator
? Attend business meetings with the Project Director (or others as required) and provide simultaneous translation from Mandarin to English, English to Mandarin and English to Japanese using appropriate technology (microphone, earpiece)
? Translate contract documents, legal documents, engineering documents, government documents, and email messages as required by the Project Director (or others as required) from Simplified Chinese to English, English to Simplified Chinese and English to Japanese.
? Review translations by others for accuracy
Location
? Guangdong Provence, People’s Republic of China – approximately 2017 through 2019
? May require travel between Guangzhou, Hefei and other city in China
Schedule
? Two to three years, starting immediately on location in Guangzhou/Zengcheng, China
Proficiency requirements
? ILR Level 5 proficiency in Mandarin
? ILR Level 5 proficiency in English
? JLPT N1 Level, CATTI Level 2 Certificate in Japanese
? TOEFL score >117 if non-US citizen
? Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Other requirements
? Must consent to a full background check and employment verification prior to start of work
? Must agree to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Corning, Inc. prior to start of work
? Must agree to sign a Non-Compete Agreement (NCA) with Corning, Inc. prior to start of work
? Must agree to post assignment employment checks to verify NCA compliance prior to start of work
Additional information
? Translation services may at times be required during tours of facilities under construction where wearing Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, protective footwear) is mandatory
? Translation services may at times be required at business lunches, business dinners, and business events
? Translation services will frequently be required during international conference calls in addition to in person meetings
