职位描述：
Primary objectives of the role:
Manage leather development and production for shoes. Maintain strong working relationships with Design team and Product Development teams. Coordinate all aspects of leather materials development process, including market research, presentation of raw materials, sample material management, cost negotiations and material aggregation, and implement material testing process.
Reports to:
Senior material manager.
 
Specific duties include:
? Following the design and trend direction from Design team, collaborate with those departments to source, develop, and manage the materials for each season.
? Work with suppliers to develop materials that meet the brand quality standards, aesthetics, end use needs, target prices, and availability.
? Negotiate costs, delivery timelines, and availability directly with the raw material suppliers. Place orders for sample and commitments for bulk materials.
? Collaborate with Design, PD team to nominate and certify raw material suppliers .
? Track all materials purchases and commitments and maintain liability reports. Inform teams of liability issues and suggest possible solutions. Where necessary, negotiate with suppliers to reduce liabilities.
? Responsible for maintaining an ongoing research and development function to create new, enhance existing, and re-source materials.
? Lead the development and documentation of materials technical standards. Update the standards as necessary.
? Ensure that the final confirmation of all materials in a timely manner to ensure on-time production.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND APTITUDE REQUIREMENT

? Minimum 10 years of materials sourcing experience.
? Must be an expert for all kinds of leather.
? Deep knowledge and experience in the factory, materials planning and purchasing process.
? Good English, Mandarin communication skills.
