PRIMARY FUNCTION
Support a broad array of packaging projects by identifying package production opportunities and working w/ suppliers to improve efficiency and package performance. Working with the manager to translate business and technical product requirements for both new and existing products into well defined direction and guidance for the product or packaging suppliers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Visit supplier factories in the area to evaluate supplier capacity, capability, quality control system and other information needed for the team to make final decision at business award.
2. Know local packaging market, supplier matrix, including raw material suppliers, packaging production and key components to impact packaging cost. Primarily evaluate and partner with HQ on packaging design and material development to ensure local relevancy and integrity, i.e., quality and safety of the product contents including shipping integrity throughout the distribution chain.
3. Comprehend owned brand process, principals and positioning, and apply this understanding to day-to-day work and decision-making
4. Partner with HQ, Negotiations Analyst and Supplier Management Analyst to ensure project feasibility, cost/benefit analysis, negotiation and estimating resource requirements
5. Build relationship with paper mills to collect paper trend and other information for the potential business opportunity in long term.
6. Actively participate in the development and evaluation of innovative packaging designs and materials, including conducting consumer testing.
7. Support efforts in product lifecycle management programs to address the on-going quality, performance and cost, i.e., maintenance, of packaging in the marketplace; including conducting marketplace quality audits.
8. Serve as principal contact in working directly product vendors to provide technical direction and guidance and to solve problems and ensure effective corrective actions.
9. Serve as a principal resource to ensure technical regulatory compliance of packaging materials.
10. Develop and maintain strong internal and external contacts in the professional packaging community.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor degree or equivalent in packaging engineering or printing.
? 10+ years of experience in packaging supplier or paper mills responsible for packaging design, production or sales.
? Advanced knowledge of market and industry within the relevant geographic area (able to identify competitors’ activities/development from difference resources to share with HQ and Global Teams)
? Advanced knowledge of printing/substrates. Understand various factors that impacts packaging quality and helps save production or packaging costs.
? Excellent communication skills in English and local office language, both written and verbal
? Strong MS office skills and able to use all relevant tools and systems
? Knowledge of local trade, shipment and payment in relevant area.
? Strong problem solving, negotiating, planning and organizational skills
? Strong analytical thinking skills and holistic approach to understand & interpret data /reports, market trends and prepare reports.
? Able to drive meetings effectively and strong presentation skills
? Assertive with strong initiative
? Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast paced environment

? Experience with packaging suppliers or paper mills
