GAP POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: China Logistics Analyst EFFECTIVE DATE: July, 2016
DEPARTMENT: Domestics Transportation, China
GRADE: 14
REPORTING TO: Senior Manager, Domestics Transportation
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the management of Gap, Inc’s China logistics and trade compliance operations, encompassing inbound, customs clearance, distribution center processes, and outbound delivery to stores as operated by 3PLs. By collecting, analyzing and communicating key data, this position helps the logistics manager ensure 3PL on-time performance & KPIs are met, and successful strategies are developed and implemented.
This role collaborates closely with other supply chain functions, finance and other relevant internal business partners to ensure goal alignment and business success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Support the management of daily shipment tracking and trade compliance functions and 3rd party logistics providers (3PL’s) against service levels, cost and productivity KPI’s.
? Audit the pre-classification result to ensure correct HS code is classified to apply for the FTA
? Execute and enforce Gap Inc’s logistics and trade compliance strategies, SOPs, customs/CIQ regulations and international trade agreements to related business functions to ensure smooth & efficient logistics operations.
? Responsible for Customs declaration to ensure entry accuracy and on time.
? Responsible for data collection, analysis and communication concerning all in-market logistics and trade compliance operations for Gap Inc.’s China market as operated by contracted 3PLs. Measurements of success include logistics’ reliability, cost effectiveness, and ability to support growth in stores and selling channels.
? Collaborate with DC and broker for well container receiving plan.
? Cross functional partnership in analyzing and sharing information that supports the development of efficient inventory flow plans, processes, service levels & strategies.
? Work with origin operation team to ensure the service issues are called and solution is provided and followed up
? Demonstrate and ensure absolute adherence to Gap Inc.’s Code of Business Conduct as well as compliance with all local laws and regulations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? University graduate with at least 3 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain management.
? China retail logistics operation knowledge, experience in working with 3PL is preferred
? Familiar with China Customs & CIQ regulation, able to support managing China Customs & port CIQ relationship.
? Familiar with China import / export process, warehouse operation and planning experience is preferred.
? Familiar with auditing Customs entries and 3PL billings.
? Familiar with the HS code Classification is preferred
? Strong Integrity, self-motivated, open-minded and ability to work independently and under pressure in multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision.
? Strong written and spoken communications skills, fluent in written & spoken English and Chinese to support need to translation services as needed.
? Strong computer skills such as those in Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft office software applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Access database application preferred.
