Job Responsibilities:
1. Daily testing operation in an office furniture mechanical test lab; follow documented test methods to perform accurate and repeatable tests by safely operating precision instruments and complex test devices. Monitor and record the condition of the product before, during and upon completion of the tests. Analyze and present test results using simple descriptive statistics, computer software, graphs, and tables.
2. Ensure all machineries and fixtures are well maintained, calibrated and in functional conditions; Perform minor repairs on test machines.
3. Assist in the research, purchase and setup of new lab equipment. Use hand tools and shop equipment to build metal, wood or plastic test fixtures as needed for conducting tests.
4. Maintain confidentiality on projects.
5. Under the guidance of the supervisor, create test lab ISO/IEC 17025 quality system, maintain relative documents and procedures (in English).
6. Maintain test lab housekeeping and 5S.
7. Work proactively with performance engineers, project engineers or other teams in sample delivery, testing method development, result interpretation or failure improvement etc.;
8. Other responsibilities/ tasks when assigned.
Job requirements:
1. College graduate in engineering or with equivalent engineering training qualifications;
2. At least 1~3 years’ working experience in BIFMA/AFRDI testing, preferably in a certified test lab;
3. Good command of English and Chinese languages; English test standard reading/writing capability is a must; English oral communication is a plus.
4. Knowledge and skills of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
5. ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor certified or other professional certification is a plus.
6. General understanding of the office furniture, desk/table, storage unit and seating products;
7. General understanding of testing machine maintain/repair, or have fixture build knowledge is a plus.
