BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible to develop, communicate, lead and monitor compliance the company’s QA standards for all material suppliers and assembly factories. Expertise in handbag industry and has deep knowledge of handbag specifications, construction, and workmanship.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The inspection result review in factory and daily check on production line and report if any emergency .

2. Leadership position responsible to drive the company’s quality strategic plans and champion consistent standards with all associates and suppliers.

3. Knowledgeable and well versed in US, EU, Japan, etc. and global material testing regulations related to the handbag, travel accessory and luggage industry (California Prop 65, EN-71, etc.). Develop material component QA standards for suppliers. Stay out in front and current on new country regulations that impact our products. Make ongoing recommendations to GM to adjust our QA Standards based on market/consumer changes.

4. Train and develop all associates, suppliers and factories on the company’s QA requirements. Train and set up the work manners of every QC in factory .

5. Provide ongoing input into product specifications to improve construction and product durability. Establish/update basic product functionality and durability QA requirements for products. Conduct functional testing protocol for each PP sample prior to production including; wear tests, weight tests, material function performance tests, color transfer tests, metal performance tests, etc. Collaborate with product developers and production team on test results and improvements necessary for production.

6. Maintain the company’s product specification data base (Chinese version – that defines all the necessary production details for the factory).

7. Collaborate with Product Development/Production Manager to develop, implement and manage the company’s confidential quarterly random lab testing program.

8. Conduct annual C-TPAT factory inspections. Conduct and/or schedule other factory inspections as required by GM or our customers.

9. Exceptional communicator – inclusive, open minded and team oriented approach always with all associates.

10. Active leader in company/factory quality pre-production meetings to review PP samples and discuss workmanship and quality standards during production.

11. Champions relentlessly the core values of the company to our associates, material suppliers and assembly factories. Integrity, respect, commitment, discipline, personal responsibility, teamwork and passion to be the best – are all key parts.

12. Travels between factories and within China as needed.

SKILLS

1. Requires an undergraduate level degree in an applicable field of study and/or a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role.

2. Requires previous experience in a QA function at a major lab testing company, preferably with expertise in the handbag industry.

3. Requires strong communication/listening skills. The associate must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
