RESPONSIBLE TO: Garment Costing’s Engineer
LOCATION: China Office
JOB OVERVIEW
The post holder will be an employee of Rubies Masquerade Limited based China. Rubies’ is the world's largest costume manufacturer and boasts a prestigious portfolio of major licenses including Disney, Marvel, Warner Brothers, Lucas film and Hasbro
OUTLINE OF MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Investigate, monitor and review market price of raw material (fabric, trims, packaging) and labour costs throughout China and other trending countries. Review on a 6 monthly basis and report to the business.
o Support product development team on supplier price management. To help ensure product is designed and developed into cost. Review and monitor costs monthly analyse and share to the business
o Identify the impact design changes have on cost and vice versa
o Analyse and compare costs breakdown and work closely with the design and product teams to help create and maintain target costs
o Propose cost reduction options to design and product development teams
o Negotiate with suppliers on costs, set up-charges, MOQ’s and other internal business terms and conditions.
o Provide detailed and accurate open costing’s sheets.
o To be able to offer precise and accurate Design Cost, Product Cost and Production Cost

Personal Requirements:

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Strong leadership skills
o Excellent persuasive and cost negotiation skills.
o Excellent investigative and analysis skills.
o Possess a confident and flexible manner.
o Be able to work within a team and independently.
o Good English; spoken and written.
o Good knowledge of garment construction, garment manufacture “time study” and garment manufacturing processes; and their impact on cost.
o Good knowledge of the fabric, trim, accessory and printing “market” within China and nearby countries.
o Good knowledge of currencies and exchange rates
o Excellent knowledge of Excel.
o Travelling into China is necessary– Development centre and supply base
o To be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
