RESPONSIBILITIES:

- As an experienced project owner for conducting challenging industrial engineering projects. The job scope focuses on minimizing material losses, maximizing the recycle/ rework of materials, improving the OEE of unit operations in the current manufacturing processes of raw materials handling, product and packaging. Consistently looks for synergies and ties the initiatives across the factories within the APAC region, keeping the end goal of generating bottom-line savings (COGS) in mind.

- This associate identifies ideas, researches for new methods and implements improved Wrigley products and engineering processes; functions as a technical resource and project leader for executing projects at the Wrigley APAC factories; provides technical expertise to Supply Chain, Quality Assurance (QA) and other Research & Development (R&D) associates in the development of new & improved manufacturing and formulation practices.

- Conducts on-site factory trials with factory production, LEAN and QA teams to test new and/ or improved processes in full-scale production conditions. Understands the fundamentals of statistics and uses statistical analysis in all numerical data interpretation.

- Be an initiator of industrial engineering ideas and a core team owner of project ideation and implementation. Spends the time at the factories to help generate ideas through live observation of the manufacturing operations, and through consultations with the factory operators, production leaders and LEAN managers. Obtains the existing list of ideas from each factory and prioritizes the initiatives for resourcing.

- Conducts work sessions with internal key stakeholders and potentially external engineering consultants to generate breakthrough ideas that would require more long-term thinking and research & development efforts.

- Communicates effectively about the project scope, status and conclusions to internal R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, QA and Finance groups. Authors project briefs, trial reports and approval request documents to follow the current business operations protocols.

- Understands the fundamentals of COGS and ICP, in the areas of material losses, OEE calculations and expenses associated with executing a project.

- Remains abreast of new developments in assigned area of responsibility by collaborating very closely with the APAC Innovation teams in Guangzhou and Bangalore. On an occasion basis, interact with the Global Innovation teams in Chicago to obtain learning, share information and build a technical network within the segment. Investigates the various manufacturing practices across Wrigley and Mars factories to look for best practices.


REQUIREMENTS: ?
- A bachelor's degree from an university or community college
- 7+ Years of manufacturing or engineering experience, an advanced degree may substitute for experience
- The position holder must have thorough working knowledge in one or more of the Company's product groups (chewing gum, bubble gum and confections) and be able to communicate the technical results effectively with other Company functions such as Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Commercial and R&D. The position holder should have proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.) and should be capable of learning database systems. This position also requires good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with other Company associates.
- Experience in working with project teams based in different locations.
- Flexible in hosting and participating in conference calls during off-hours when needed.
- About 10-20% travel may be required.
