The Appliance Design Integration Manager interacts daily with all relative functions in the Keurig Green Mountain US office, and in Keurig’s development and manufacturing partners. The candidate will specialize in bringing together project components into a brewing system and ensuring that those components function together. The successful candidate can identify and facilitates resolution of operational issues. They will own the Technical Readiness process and have a drive to get projects done, while also constantly reviewing and improving how it gets done through Lean practices, past learnings, methods, etc.
The Appliance Design Integration Manager must have a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures for robust product development. This knowledge will be across the entire product lifecycle, from conception through production. The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of; mechanical design, system and process design and control, electronics, thermodynamics, fluid flow, local manufacturing techniques, as well as testing and debug for products with sales greater than 5 million units per year. They will also be able to adapt to changing project objectives and priorities, and be able to successfully leverage the strengths of both Keurig’s internal resources and the resources of its development partners to ensure successful product launches
What you will do:
The Appliance Design Integration Manager will work cross functionally with the technology groups both in the contract manufacturer/development partner, and in the US Keurig development office, to create plans and approaches for a cost effective, high quality product that meets the needs of the Keurig end consumer. They will work closely with the US development office to understand the commercial product requirements and commercial timing needs.
The Appliance Design Integration Manager will lead the implementation of Appliance programs as they are transitioned from front end development in the US through detailed design and production at contract manufacturers in the APAC region. During this process, they will develop innovative, creative product and system designs and process enhancements for the next generation of coffee brewing products at Keurig. They will collaborate daily with the front end development team in Burlington. They will ensure that projects meet their technical readiness objectives at each gate. They will ensure that all aspects of the designs are well tested to the commercial product requirements, that documentation is complete, and that the product is ready for launch and meets the commercial timing needs defined by Keurig. This position will have no direct reports.
The successful engineering manager will:
? Thrive in a creative, cross functional and cross cultural team environment.
? Ensure projects are executed on time and to specification.
? Be responsible for interfacing with contract manufacturers from a technical standpoint including supervision of those contractors and resources.
? Be responsible for a wide range and variety of programs.
? Have a tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to provide reflective feedback to project stakeholders.
? Provide active, hands on support of design, testing, and debugging activities as required.
? Occasional travel to the US and frequent travel within APAC.
? Follow all Keurig policies and procedures.
What you must have:
? Product development experience with high level technology, including system integration and process control experience.
? Experience in high volume consumer goods.
? Must be hands on and use a practical approach to concept modeling and testing.
? Knowledge of thermal dynamics, fluid flow and advanced mechanisms is a plus
? Excellent organizational and communication skills are required, in both English and Putonghua.
? 15+ Years with BSME.
? 7+ Years with Advanced Degree.
? Prior experience in a consumer products company.
? Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin is required, conversational Cantonese a plus.
? Possess or can obtain a US visa.
? Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.
? Ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
