Land O' Lakes is very well known in the US for being the largest producer of butter and other dairy products. Since 1924, their name has been synonymous with the highest quality dairy products. Today, that hasn't changed. They remain an icon in American kitchens and restaurants, and a key supplier to food manufacturers around the world.

They have diversified their services to also become a leading provider of agricultural services and animal feed. They support local agriculture in developing nations around the world. Those efforts have also helped them expand their commercial business beyond the United States.

Land O' Lakes has over 10,000 employees in 50 countries worldwide and $13.5b in NET Sales in 2015. They are a Co-operative organisation and have a total of 4,331 members, made up primarily of Dairy & Agricultural producers (farmers).

In China, they have recently acquired a Chinese Forage-Genetics business which will allow them to build a market for value-added alfalfa and forage seeds in China. This business has experienced significant success in recent years and this JV partnership will provide the platform to double the size of the business over the next 4 years.

Description

The role of the Senior Finance Controller will have overall responsibility for all financial functions within the Agriculture Investments in China. Responsibilities include leadership and development of the finance team, ensuring strong internal controls across the business, implementing a timely financial close process, maintaining books and records in accordance with IFRS and managing the treasury functions. The Sr. Controller will also engage with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies, lead the annual budgeting process, provide ongoing forecasts/ad-hoc reports and respond to inquiries from HQ in the US and the other shareholders.

Profile

You will have substantial knowledge of current Chinese accounting principles, IFRS, US GAAP, with minimum 10 years work experience, ideally in a related agriculture company, but this is not essential. However, experience working for both Chinese and US based firms would be highly desired.

You will be the primary source of information to HQ in the US, so you will be able to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity as well as first class communication skills in English.
