Our client is a western multinational company in the FMCG industry with numerous iconicbrands in the specialty oils and dairy products categories. They have been operating in China and the Asia Pacific area for a long time. Due to expansion of the business, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to help them further exploit the China market potential for the company’s products, in particular the import specialty oils and fats category.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The role is responsible for developing, validating, and executing the business development plan through building andoptimizing the network of distribution in the China market, which is the strategic focus of the business unit for the years to come;

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Responsible for the company’s products, especially the import specialty oils and fats category’s business development in the Mainland China market. Based on the regional business strategy, develop China’s distribution operational master plan;

? Identify business opportunities and challenges, develop existing and potential customer mapping in China, provide strategy for distribution and channel development nationally, as well as in the different geographic regions in China;

? Optimize current route-to-market strategy and make market data analysis, track performance. Ensure proper geographic and channel distribution with the network of distributors throughout the nation, and optimize stock allocation to maximize sales performance;

? Develop, evaluate, validate and execute distribution plans and expansion of the network of distribution nation-wide;

? Leverage global and local resources to drive specialty oils and fats business in the China market;

? Manage distributors and downstream customers. Maintain multilayer relationship with distributors. Direct and monitor the efforts of distributors to implement sales and promotional activities in order to increase market share, revenue, and sales growth within the regions through strategic initiatives;

? Review and work with marketing and sales functions route-to-market and trade activities plans through distribution network, including new product launch, promotional campaigns, category management initiatives, etc. Track and review performance;

? Monitor the structure, systems and execution of the distributors as it relates to sales and channel development;

? Communicate initiatives to distributors and ensure implementation through constant interface with regional sales teams. Work with local sales force to drive new business opportunities identification and execution;

? Provide downstream customer sales team training and operation concerning inventory management, operational process, consumer complaints management, etc.;

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

? Business degree qualified;
? Strong English and Mandarin language capability;
? 10-15 years of FMCG sales, category/channel/trade marketing experience;
? Previous work experience in specialty oils and fats categories is required;
? Proven ability in sales and business development;
? Collaborative work style;
? Strong negotiation and communication skills.
