职位描述：
Basic Function

Furnish accurate and timely estimates to Account Executives to help maintain a coordinated system of profitable selling prices in tune with industry standards.
Provide information and consultation to assist the project development effort by making recommendations where appropriate to lower costs. Maintain a comprehensive product knowledge of items estimated.


II. Essential Functions
1. Work with design, engineering and model shop to review proposed designs. Provide consultation and make recommendations on materials, manufacturing methods, etc. relative to ease of production, lead time, budget and design objectives.
2. Cooperate with Sourcing to identify new suppliers, production methods and materials. Communicate to product development and estimating associates any advancement in technology which could impact our efforts in the marketplace. Help to build and maintain source file.
3. Review supplier quotes and make recommendations for use in estimates. Analyze and reverse-engineer supplier quotes down to the level of raw materials and labor operations to determine if quoted pricing is competitive or accurate, or determine an alternative “should-cost” price to use in an estimate. Use the same skills to develop approximate pricing when unable to obtain quotes from suppliers.
4. Provide Account Executives with the type of estimate appropriate to each stage in the design and engineering process. Participate in reviewing new projects to provide approximate costing and budgetary guidance to RTC associates or the client. Participate in brainstorming and value-engineering efforts.
5. Aid in training less experienced estimating associates.
6. Be proficient in RFP and RFQ processing and administration. Be able to accurately complete large, complex programs within a given deadline. Be able to clearly communicate the methodology and strategy used in creating an estimate, and present the finished product to colleagues in a clear and concise manner.


III. Secondary Duties
1. Use LN system as needed to perform job function.
2. Circulate estimates to appropriate parties. Help to maintain estimate files.
3. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Estimating Manager.
4. Coordinate with production department for labor estimates.


IV. Organization Relationships
- Reports to the Estimating Manager
- Key internal contacts: Designers, Engineers and Account Executives
- Key external contacts: Suppliers


V. Education, Experience, Skill Requirements
Education: A four-year degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred but not essential.
Experience: 5+ years of cost estimating, preferably in the display or related industry.
Skills: Computer operation (Excel and LN). The ability to read blueprints, and good conceptual abilities. A working knowledge of a wide variety of materials & processes.
