The analyst will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of International Logistics in analyzing and executing corporate initiatives that support our global import transportation network. Responsibilities include analyzing foreign based transportation supply chain costs and related savings between various terms of sale. Independently handle network analysis on port optimization, direct trucking, supporting FCA conversion, field consolidation and mode selection for moving product through the supply chain. Provides office support in scheduling activities with vendors, trucking companies, ports/terminals, Customs authorities and handling general office administrative functions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Network Analysis : Conduct network analysis on cost/benefits on vendor shipments moving from an FOB to FCA basis incorporating all cost components involved from factories through origin ports.
2. Communication: Establishes, maintains, and maximizes effective relationships within Import Transportation, TSS, Vendors, Trucking companies, Consolidators, and origin Customs. Monitor and manage consolidator and trucking providers’ performance.
3. Process Training and Development: Provide training support and documentation requirements with vendors, consolidators, Trucking companies on corporate program initiatives
4. Project Management: Conduct analysis and manage projects impacting the supply chain such as direct trucking, port optimization, container utilization, warehouse outsourcing…etc
5. Scheduling Appointments: Sets up and schedules meetings/appointments with vendors, ports, Customs, and Trucking companies as requested
6. Office Administration: Receives telephone calls relating to International Logistics and attempts to handle and address questions relating to International Logistics . Communicates accordingly with Headquarters Transportation and cross function teams.
7. Additional Duties As Assigned: Duties will assigned which may include handling/sorting mail, maintaining files, coordinating payment of invoices/bills or one time projects or routine tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1) Bachelor degree and equivalent business experience with more than 3 years.
2) Ability to work independently and in a group environment.
3) Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
4) Excellent analytical and communication skills.
5) Strong decision making skills.
6) Strong leadership skills.
7) Continuous learning mindset – passion for learning what you need to know to be successful
8) Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access applications.
9) Proficient in English
DESIRED
1) Familiarity with transportation, merchandising, and/or procurement
2) MBA, or active pursuit thereof
