Operating as a design partner, SKOPE offer customised product solutions to a number of international and local beverage and dairy companies and provide a full range of food service refrigeration. Manufacturing both in Christchurch and China has been instrumental to SKOPE's recent success.
We are looking for a Quality / Process Engineer to support our manufacturing process with our Chinese manufacturing partner based in Huangdao. You will be responsible for carrying out assigned quality, process control and improvement initiatives. You will also be responsible for providing technical support for new products, specifically in the development of prototype products and their transition to full production.
It is expected that you will be travelling to Christchurch, New Zealand multiple times per year to work alongside our Design and Quality teams.
Responsibilities:
? Supervise process and quality in third party production facilities. Understand SKOPE’s manufacturing processes and products and assist with process improvements.
? Assist with production, and coordinate the adoption and enforcement of SKOPE specific processes at third party production facilities.
? Analyse production data relating to automated production processes with the objective of improving efficiencies and reducing operating costs.
? Proactively liaise with assembly and design staff to resolve any existing product and process issues that may affect quality, productivity, safety or ergonomics.
? Facilitate the implementation of design changes to resolve quality/process issues.
? Generate documentation including work instructions for use by third party manufacturers.
? Carry out internal Quality audits.
? Assist with the transition of SKOPE designed products to third party production facilities.
? Collaborate with third party manufacturers and recommend improvements to new product designs to improve production efficiency and reduce operating costs.
? Visiting and auditing current and prospective Chinese suppliers.
Requirements:
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
? Minimum 3 years’ experience of quality or process engineering in a manufacturing industry.
? Demonstrated Internal Auditing experience.
? Detail oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
? Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external/internal customers and stakeholders.
