Summary
The China Technical Service Manager oversees support of the installed base of precision metrology and assembly tools, from site acceptance through end of life. The position collaborates closely with our international service organization to continually improve tool performance and drive customer advocacy of our products.
Responsibilities
? Leads resolution of technical and customer satisfaction issues to optimize the customer experience, including both warranty and service contract related activities.
? Develops Service database across all product lines to track the status of field issues. This will include creation of a field issue report for engineers to use to capture issues to be entered into the database. Works with engineering to identify failure trends across product lines.
? Prepares service reports, usage forecasts and failure analyses of returned components, collaborating with engineering, operations and logistics as necessary.
? Develops advanced troubleshooting and training documentation. Validates existing troubleshooting methods, introducing improvements as appropriate.
? Cultivates and develops positive working relationships with Engineering, Operations and an International service team, recommending changes to products or services to address customer needs.
? Works with management to develop and implement strategic plans, initiatives, and direction.
? Work closely with Logistics, Production, Engineering and Project Management to insure customer needs are met.
? Own, monitor, and report metrics demonstrating ongoing improvement to the function.
? Close communication and routing reporting with US Project Team and Service Team.
? Manpower arrangement, scheduling and time tracking.
Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of experience supporting products of medium/high technical complexity.
? Demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical assemblies. Familiar with a variety of technical service concepts, practices, and procedures.
? Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience leading root cause analysis initiatives and continuous improvement is vital to the success of this role. Training/certification in structured problem solving tools (e.g. 5 Why, Pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, 8D, Kepner Tregoe) desired.
? Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
? Outstanding intercultural communication skills.
? Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel.
? Experience with ERP systems strongly preferred.
? English language proficiency a plus.
? Willing to travel frequently.
