General Overview:
? Ensure finished products are in compliance with all buyer approved quality standards
? Plan and locate QC team in order to meet business and delivery requirements
? Train and develop QC Inspectors to be solution oriented and prevent problems early in the product life cycle, well before final inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
? Manage the operations and administration of QA/QC function for Jewelry and accessories product areas
? Responsible for monitoring all factory quality processes, materials inspection, pre-production meetings, in-line, and final inspection
? Work with merchandisers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers during seasonal cycles to anticipate, prevent and resolve quality problems
? Communicate quality requirements, inspection policies and procedures to (new) factories to ensure that production will meet company’s requirement
? Develop and implement quality control policies and procedures
? Conduct evaluation on (potential) vendors in the areas of quality performance, establish capability and suitability to meet the buyer quality standard
? Follow up corrective and prevention plans with vendors for quality improvement, ensure the vendors make and own the improvements.
? Management of vendors in term of product quality, help to produce data on quality / inspection performance to assist on sourcing strategy.
? Provide technical advice and resolve technical problems
? Investigate and handle product complaint, ensure vendor complies to corrections necessary.
? Develop, lead and motivate staff
? Train the team to become the eyes and ears of Tory Burch, issues such as labour unrest or safety and compliance issues that can potentially damage the brand reputation should be elevated in importance for senior management to address.
? Assist business team in sourcing new vendor/factories
? Communicate with design / buying team in NY office on vendor performance / strategy
? Ad hoc projects?
Required Experience and Qualifications:
? At least 7 years proven experience in managerial level, less experience will be considered as Assistant Quality Manager
? Hands on experiences in working with jewelry factories/vendors, preferably in Southern China region
? Strong sense of global standards for luxury goods
? Must have a good understanding of Factory SOPs and the Right First Time concept.
? Knowledge in global quality and production standards at a similar product / brand level.
? Must be familiar with Testing Requirements and current protocol and have good knowledge of restricted substance control.
? Strong problem solving, negotiation, planning and organizational skills
? Excellent interpersonal skills
? Results oriented, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic
? Committed to continuous learning and training of team
? Fluent in English and Mandarin. Cantonese a plus
? Frequent travel is required
? Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Quality Manager – Jewelry & Accessories
