Description: Reporting directly to the Project Manager and functionally to all other departmental managers and supervisors.
The person will be capable of translating from English to Mandarin (and vice versa) all of the technical requirements from the Owner’s (GNPK) team to its EPC contractor, Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (SEPCC) and their respective sub-contractors to ensure that the messages are clear and fully understood.
It is imperative that the individual is capable of ensuring that the correct technical terms are used to ensure that the message is clear and there is no ambiguity and misunderstanding by any parties.
The technical terms used refer to all of the disciplines and include civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, structural etc. etc. so a good all round understanding of these areas is essential to ensuring full understanding of the requirements.
The incumbent should also be well versed in taking and producing the minutes of the meetings to ensure that the facts are recorded accurately and clearly for reference by all.
The incumbent must be capable of attending many meetings and discussions, some of which will be at short notice, and be able to handle a pressured environment in terms of availability to all who require these services.
Qualifications:
Fluent in English and Mandarin
Technical background with knowledge about power plants and the various equipment utilized in these plants.
An Engineering qualification relating to any of the disciplines utilized in construction of power plants such as civil, mechanical electrical, instrumentation etc.
