HAY is seeking a Product developer to work out in Hong Kong office, ideally with prior experience in LED lighting and/or contemporary furniture, with a passion for innovative use of technology as well as executing financially orientated solutions within the rapidly growing lighting industry.
Job Responsibility:
1. Understanding of how a product can be developed into components which are optimized for mass production, producing technical drawings and liaising with suppliers to turn these into a commercial offering.
2. Closely communicate with all parties, including the original designers, factory engineers, packaging suppliers, testing house engineers as well as European buyers and development office
Qualification:
1. Relevant experience for at least 3 years in product design, 2 years’ experience in furniture and/or OEM lighting design and development.
2. Have a grasp of three dimensional modelling software, ideally using Solidworks competently.
3. Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a must.
4. A firm grasp of at least verbal and written English. Fluency in verbal and written Mandarin is not essential but is a big bonus.
5. Willing and able to travel to Mainland China.
Personality:
1. Hard working, clear, concise when communicating to colleagues and are organized when handling the multiple tasks at hand.
2. Keen to utilize design and development skill set to generate commercially competitive products within the lighting industry.
3. Prior knowledge and genuine interest in the contemporary lighting design world and are looking to expand on this.
