JOB SUMMARY:
To head up QAS Trim Team in all operation and work activities, ensuring QAS standards and requirements be met at lowest costs, source and evaluate Trim suppliers to support all business, and work independently with design teams on trims development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Trims Research & Development - 80%
? Improve the trims sourcing in order to support the garment production and distribution, optimizing time and economical parameters
? To contribute the efficiency of product development process in terms of lead-time, quality & minimizing the deviation of target price
? Develop practical solutions such as improved methods of dyeing or knitting with fabric suppliers
? Explain to suppliers our quality standard and ensure they can meet our standard and requirement
? Evaluate the suppliers' performance periodically and follow up their corrective actions
? Review quality check reports and approve in-coming materials in line with delivery schedules of finished garment
? Present the new trendy collection for trims items to US/NA/APAC region.
? Work with region design team directly on trims approval from development to SMS and bulk production
? Pro-active alert quality issue during development stage
? Price Negotiation, as well as on capacity reservation
Building up the Good Network as QAS internal & external counter partners - 10%
? Good relationship with suppliers in all Asian countries to support QAS business
? Co-operate with each merchandising team to provide the transparency information on trims
? Liaise closely with suppliers and related parties to ensure the product development process productively
Shooting the problem on trim issue - 10%
? Assisting to solve any problem on delivery, quality, communication issue.
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS
· Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
· Well organized, customer oriented and energetic.
REQUIRIED QUALIFICATIONS
? 10-15 years solid experience and broad knowledge of product development and manufacturing of garments trims and accessories, including at least 3 years of experience as Trims Manager in MNC;
? Excellent command of spoken and written English. Knowledge in Chinese (Mandarin) will be a plus.
? Understanding of manufacturing process
? Strong at trim sourcing network
? Knowledge in Supply Chain and Procurement Management.
? Excellent communication and negotiation skills
? Good leadership skill with experience supervising a small team.
? Proficiency in MS applications e.g. Excel, Word PowerPoint, etc.
? Travel is required.
