Key responsibilities
? As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for Manage the H&M engineering team. Make sure your team have a good management on the New Product Development (NPD) process from product concept phase through the initial shipment, ensuring a proper follow up to all NPD activities;
? Set up the annual target of your team and each engineer according to the annual NPD project list;
? Understand the strength and weakness of your team member and develop your team member’s competency;
? Track and balance your team member’s workload;
? Provide regular project status & delivery summary update and workload update;
? Make continuous improvement on the procedures, tools, communications related to daily work;
? Provide technical support to all regions and suppliers for new projects and rolling projects;
? Provide technical support to all Dorel Juvenile global markets (regions) and suppliers for new projects and rolling projects;
? Monitor and report ongoing project schedules, make sure project on quality and on cost during development;
? Ensure all technical activities required for doing technical tests and getting regulations approval/certificate of the products related for a production start;
? Summary and update the technical issues identified during NPD process and make sure suitable evaluation and corrective action are provided and validated
? Review and update the Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) report to ensure all potential problems are addressed before mass production;
? Manage cost changes during the tool start to production within the target;
? Communicate and coordinate development activities and makes sure all deliveries will be documented;
? Monitor ongoing project schedules and update development progress tracking record.
Profile
? A bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronical engineering;
? At least 8 years of relevant work experience, obtained in a comparable role in product engineering, preferably in the Juvenile, Toys products within international operating companies; At least 3 years of team management experience;
? Strong technical background in mechanical design, plastic injection molding, metal tube forming process, plastic mold design and fabrication. Familiar with mould standards and requirements is preferred;
? Certification in Project Management is preferred, e.g. PMP or any other related methodologies;
? Require strong problem solving skills. Certified 6 Sigma GB or BB is preferred;
? Require strong technical risk evaluation skill. Understand DFMEA methodology and can lead the DFMEA activities;
? Experience in project management, ability to manage multiple projects independently, assure timely deliverables in each critical developmental milestone, and resolve problems during the development process;
? Experience working in factory or trading company and managing projects from multiple international customers is preferred;
? Familiar with new product development and engineering practices and procedures;
? Sounds knowledge of product regulations or standards such as ASTM, EN, etc.
? Good communication & influencing skills;
? Analytical and detailed oriented;
? Self-starter and able to work independently;
? Experience with working in a matrix organization, fast paced in a multicultural environment;
? Ability to estimate product cost and evaluate cost accuracy with 3D engineering files;
? Proficient in spoken and written in English and Mandarin.
