Our customer Liferay is the provider of leading enterprise open source portal and collaboration software products. Liferay portal is used by Fortune 500 companies worldwide, including BMW, China Mobile, Cisco Systems, Electronic Arts, French Ministry of Defense, Harvard University, Honda, NBA, Vodafone, and Watsons. Liferay offers professional services, technical support, custom development and professional training to ensure successful deployment in the most demanding IT environments. Description:
Liferay is looking for excellent software engineers who can work as the technical support engineers to assist the company's growing number of customers. Your primary responsibility will be to fix bugs in our product that are found by customers and users. Your debugging skills and coding skills will be put to the test daily as you quickly turn around bug fixes for customers. Although this position's priority is to fix bugs, it will also allow you to work on new features for the product. Your contribution will be recorded in our product release and improve our product quality.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with at least 2 years working experience or SCJP quivalent.
● CET-4 or CET -6 equivalent
● Excellent programming skills and a solid foundation in Java and Java Servlets, JSP, SQL
● Good understanding of web based technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript,AUI)
● Experience with relational databases
● Good and effective communication skills, phenomenal written English skills
● Able to complete tasks with minimal assistance, knows when and what to escalate
● Extremely hard working, self-motivated, and detailed oriented, and multi-task.
● Ability to analyze complex issues and systematically break them down into their base components in order to determine the root cause of issues.
● Create debugging builds (debugging patches, println)
● Has Intermediate understanding of the JVM and know best practices for tuning the JVM.
Job Responsibilities:
？ Fix Bugs, backport fixes, and create patches - 50%
？ Participate in global mentorship system and development project - 10%
？ Handle Technical Escalations from Junior Technical Support Engineers & Customer Support Engineers - 30%

2. Analyze customer data to reproduce the issue.
3. Log/Stack Trace Analysis
4. Thread Dump Analysis
5. Heap Dump Analysis
？ Create troubleshooting tools (Debug/logging patch; API proof, KB etc.) & Train Jr. engineers -10%
Pluses:
？ Experience with Struts, Spring, Hibernate
？ Experience with portals and portlets
？ Have worked with multiple databases, and application servers
