Key Responsibility:
As a key contributor in our Dongguan Shared Services Team, the IT Support Technician will work directly to support the computing, printing, and communication needs of our 70+ divisional end-users in Dongguan, China, and Southeast Asia. Other key results include, software and hardware installation, and infrastructure support and maintenance.
Major scope of duties:
? Diagnose computer problems, monitor computer processing systems, install software and perform tests on computer equipment and programs.
? Monitor and Maintain Office LAN, WAN network and phone system..
? Coordinate with internal and external, including HK IT and HQ IT (Swiss), parties to provide daily support for software and hardware issues.
? IT solution projects deployment as scheduled by our HQ IT.
? Be ready to assist faculty and staff with IT related problems when called upon.
o Track, prioritize and document requests using an IT support request system
? Set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance and educate users to use computers and programs in accordance with Victorinox IT policy.
o Assist Shared Service Team with purchase of new equipment using proper purchasing and approval protocols.
o Repair and upgrade different types of computers (software and hardware) as required.
o Identify problems and repair printers, copiers and scanners
o Keep track of IT supplies and equipment e.g. cables and adapters
o Perform regular updates of servers
o Install cables in the organization
? Create and maintain technical documentation.
? Work on minor repairs and computer parts ordering.
? Research and learn about new software in the market that relates to the organization’s functions.
? Provide computer skill or application training for users.
? Additional projects as assigned by HQ IT and the GM.
Requirements:
? BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, CIS, or related field.
? 5+ years’experience as an IT Support Technician
o In a professional office environment
o Supporting more than 50 office and remote users
o With a multi-national corporation.
? Excellent oral and written English, Mandarin, and Cantonese communication skills to be conducive with communicating in a global corporate environment.
? Strong customer service orientation with excellent understanding of proper telephone and email etiquette.
? Microsoft Specialist certification in Windows 7 and Windows 10 is highly preferred.
? Knowledge in supporting the PC/ LAN systems and applications.
? Knowledge of basic networking - (Configure IP, Ping gateway).
? Sound knowledge in computer security, hardware configuration and technical support.
? On the job software/webpage/database application development experience will be beneficial.
? Position will be located at our Dong Guan office.
? Project management and facilitation skills.
? Ability to work with relative autonomy.
? Experience working with cross-functional teams to effectively execute jobs and projects.
? Team player.
? Strong analytical skills.
? Experience in training people on equipment and systems as required.
