Job Description:
Here is your chance to work for the Global Sourcing Office of largest New Zealand’s largest Home Improvement retailer called Mitre 10. Mitre 10 is 100% New Zealand owned and has been in operation in NZ since 1974. Working with Mitre 10 means, you are working with one of New Zealand’s most trusted brands and most successful businesses.
Our ranges of products include hardware, kitchens and bathrooms, electrical supplies, appliances, housewares, storage, outdoor furnishings, heating, automotive, camping equipment, garden supplies, landscaping, timber, building and construction materials.
The main purpose of this role is to assist the Merchandisers in all aspects of finding new products for our team in New Zealand and assist in arranging the delivery of the first PO. We are looking to find someone who is a new graduate or has been working in a similar role to join our team and develop their skills into becoming a full Merchandiser in the longer term.
You must have a high level of attention to detail, have an open mind, work well in a team environment, and work hard under pressure to overcome challenges when needed. You will be in regular contact with our team in New Zealand so writing and speaking in English is required for this job. You must also be able to travel on business trips within China. High performing team members will also go on business trips to New Zealand.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist our Merchandisers with producing quotes, reviewing samples, producing trip itineraries and booking.
2. Assist in arranging first PO delivery of new products including the follow-up of production schedules, QC inspections, vessel arrangements and other documentation.
3. Interacting with Suppliers and our team in New Zealand to communicate information effectively.
4. Work with our internal artwork, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve results.
Job Qualifications:
1. A relevant bachelor's degree or higher from a recognised university.
2. Proficiency in English writing and speaking
3. Previous experience in a similar company and working with any of the categories listed above is additionally beneficial but not required.
4. High level of attention to detail.
5. Highly motivated by a willingness to learn.
6. Good time management skills.
7. Strong observation, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
