? Support the Material Sourcing Manager in all tasks related to hardware research and material sourcing based on seasonal briefings, for special projects and general research.
? Partner with material sourcing manager and Product Development teams -local and overseas - to ensure hardware materials strategy and supply chain is aligned with company’s business objectives
? Investigate hardware fashion trends of accessories industry not only to support supplier innovation and designer’s inspiration through such as visiting Hardware fairs and suppliers, etc. but also to be able to create new
concept and innovation which is viable technically.
? Check and validate all the details before starting sourcing and/or developing the requested material.
? Be able to compare different suppliers to identify the most competitive one and consult with Material Sourcing Manager for project allocation to the suppliers according to company’s sourcing strategy.
? Monitor commodity prices trends to negotiate price achieving competitive
cost.
? Negotiate MOQ, surcharge and lead-time, while keeping all these information
available and updated.
? Investigate technical and quality problems and coordinate closely with internal/ external parties to ensure smooth resolution.
? Create, maintain and constantly update the material archive/library.
? Work in tandem with Product Development teams and fellow raw materials teams in arranging Proto and SMS ydge making to make sure delivery on time with right quality and right quantity.
? Be involved in bulk material production to monitor quality, proactively propose solutions in case of problems.
? Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the company Global Technics and quality manuals & standards.
? Continuously monitor vendor performance through establishment of KPI reporting tools.
Requirement:
? At least 7 years solid Hardware sourcing experience of which at least 3 years
in Accessories or handbag.
? College degree or above in mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
? Strong technical background and understanding of hardware materials
quality and manufacturing (sand casting/die casting/stamping/hot forging/wire
forming, enameling, tumbling, polishing, plating, lacquering, etc)
? Excellent color perception and good understanding of color theory related to
? Clear understanding of US , Europe and Asia Testing requirements. Well
know hardware testing, quality standards and inspection procedures.
? Mature, responsible, self-motivated, detail-minded, organized and able to
work independently as well as part of a team & under pressure.
? Strong in negotiation and presentation skills
? Understanding management knowledge and skills.
? Strong eye for trend/fashion
? Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
? Overseas travelling may be needed
