TITLE: Senior Technical Services Specialist - Fit & Pattern DATE: Feb 6, 2017
DEPARTMENT: CN for CN GRADE: 16 or 18 JOBCODE: XXXX
REPORTING TO: DMM
GENERAL SUMMARY: The incumbent will be responsible in managing the Technical – Fit related work streams, coordinating with Vendor tech teams. Main GIS contact for Brand design tech teams in GIS Shanghai and for Rolling out Brand specific Requirements. As a Garment Technician, He / She is Responsible for Training and Empowerment of GIS Vendor’s technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1/. Improved Sample Execution
? Review proto, LA /LC samples for fit, quality and workmanship
? Call out any production concerns at sampling stage itself
? Support brand, PD and vendors to give technical input to enhance quality of samples
? Special emphasis on suiting
2/. Innovation
? Provide market intelligence to VM team
? Suggest efficient and production friendly options at the time of sample development
3/. Quality
? Product Line review for relevant call outs to ensure no concerns in production at a later stage
? Work on Dimensional stability of Rayon
? Work on Whiteness Index
? Work on improving the hand feel of the product
? Focus on testing issue resolutions for development, FPT and GPT
4/.Cost Management
? Calculating the yy to help PD teams get the best cost
? Suggest ways of construction to improve cost without impacting aesthetics
5/.Vendor Competency
? Identify and train poor performing vendors towards improvement and bringing them to required standards
? Train Vendor Tech's to constantly deliver aesthetics and quality of samples
? Provide tech support to upcoming markets of Great China, including TW/HK.
6/. Operational Excellence
? Regular interaction with tech design to understand best practises
? Take feedback on all key vendors' performance and work towards improvisation of poor performers
? To be eyes of VD team for sharing appropriate information/updates on product quality and vendor performance
7/. Scaling of Talent
? Provide constant feed back to the team to improvisation and hold the team accountable
? Encourage team to take relevant training to enhance the skills and further knowledge in their area and related area of working
? Encourauge team to interact with cross functional partners to learn best practices
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal Stake holders: Category Vendor Management teams. / Tech teams/ Brand Tech Design teams.
External Stake holders:Category Vendors / Vendor Fit and Pattern Technicians.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Qualification and Experience
? He/she should be a Pattern Maker, a SME (Subject Matter Expert), well versed to understand pattern corrections and explain to Vendors technicians
? Should have sound Knowledge about garment construction Machinery/ folders / attachments.
? Should be educated and with effective communication skills, both written and oral in English.
? Must have through knowledge on Fit / Drape on Model/ or on Body forms..
? Should be trained in CAD/ Pattern making software’s,, ideally with Gerber PDS/ Auto YY Software.
? Should have minimum 3 years’ experience in Cad-Cam and Capability to advise on YY
? Should have minimum 10-12 years’ experience in dealing with constructed garments/ handled All Woven Sub-categories, Tops/ Dresses/ Bottoms / Outerwear/ Male Tops etc..

Educational Qualifications.
? Graduate / Diploma in with Textile Technology.
? Diploma Course in Fashion designing with Specialization in Garment technology/ Pattern making
? Any Special courses in Garment Construction/ CAD and Soft Skills.
