BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for working with the procurement team, to develop and maintain our supplier network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Targets suppliers who will be able to provide us with high quality raw materials and finished products at the best possible cost.
2. Evaluates and recommends new suppliers to product teams.
3. Participates in the annual supplier evaluation process.
4. Establishes strategic partnerships with new suppliers and manages ongoing relationships.
5. Develops and maintains an active pricing schedule of raw materials to ensure all finished product costs are current with best market costs.
6. Conducts research and finds strategic locations to source raw materials and finished goods.
7. Continually evaluates existing suppliers as part of the strategic procurement process to reduce lead-time and cost.
8. Works in partnership with Development, Costing, Compliance, and QA/QC teams to evaluate and implement new supplier relationships.
SKILLS
1. A University bachelor’s degree in international trade with strong technical background and a minimum of 10 years working experience in sourcing is required.
2. A background in supplier development with proven negotiation skills is necessary.
3. Expertise in costing and cost analysis is required.
4. Leadership and knowledge in raw material and manufacturing processes, preferably in a cut and sew industry is a must.
5. Expertise in presenting results to senior managers and multidisciplinary teams is required.
6. Expertise in using project management tools with an ability to meet timelines is needed.
7. Must have excellent Excel knowledge and be able to complete Excel-based data analysis.
8. Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English are essential.
9. Ability to work under pressure and independently is required.
10. Ability to travel frequently is required.
