Microsemi's Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and RF/microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG encompasses two business units, the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discretes BU. Markets the PDM & RF/MW Discretes BU's address include: alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors and security. Microsemi is planning to fill the following position with a talented, creative and motivated individual. A generous package is offered to all regular full time employees.
The Tactical Marketing Engineer (TME) reporting to the DPG Marketing Director coordinates and manages all the DPG product demand creation and fulfillment activities for DPG PDM & RF/MW BU’s products sold into China. The TME coordinates with the Microsemi corporate sales organization and Distribution partners to implement all major customer activities including forecasting, product applications support and product promotion. The TME works in cooperation with DPG management, Microsemi corporate sales and Distribution partners to develop and expand the China region customer base for DPG products.
Job Responsibilities: (Essential functions of the job - address job scope, discretion, supervision and job complexity)
? Travels extensively within China to visit customers and channel partners
? Meets or exceeds Revenue and demand creation targets (NBO, DI, DW)
? Attends regional Quarterly Business Reviews to discuss performance to targets and set customer action plans
? Escalation path for customers to resolve status, production, delivery and billing inquiries.
? Provides reports for Sales and BU QBRs
? Able to work independently with minimal supervision, attends weekly calls to deliver regional updates
Account Management
? Maintains and grows Microsemi relationships in distributors and customers to meet or exceed revenue and demand creation targets.
? Implements defined business plans for expansion, and penetration programs as part of key account strategies - including building a value proposition by:
? Maintaining in-depth knowledge of key customer's business, organizational structure, business processes and financial structure and understanding DPG key markets (Space, Aviation, Industrial, Communications)
? Understanding strengths and weaknesses of DPG competitors and using knowledge to leverage additional business.
? Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each distribution partner and uses this knowledge to leverage maximum mindshare for Microsemi.
Relationship Management
? Establishes professional working relationships with the senior management team internally, at distributors and key customers to ensure organizational alignment to the customer's long term business strategy.
? Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with Corporate Sales and Distribution teams
? Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with industry experts to understand trends and new business opportunities.
? Ensures the PLM team are aligned with the technology goals of customers and sufficient resources are deployed to meet those goals
? Collaborates with BU Strategic Marketing and Corporate Vertical Marketing teams and supports vertical marketing initiatives.
Contacts: (Nature and purpose)
? External: Distributors and Customers, to maximize PDG exposure within key markets
? Internal: Work with Corp Sales, Distribution and Vertical Marketing and departments and Division Strategic Marketing, QC, Manufacturing Ops, Engineering and Finance Teams to help define, develop and execute tactical and strategic initiatives
Job Complexity
? Works on problems of diverse scope and engages relevant personnel to resolve problems
? Exercises professional judgment in methods and techniques and manages company assets effectively and within established parameters
? Applies knowledge and skills to solve complex business issues
? Networks with senior internal and external customers, sales reps, distributors, and departmental contacts
? Participate in quarterly sales forecasting
? Investigate problems/issues/complaints to recommend and implement solutions.
Qualifications
? Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years related semiconductor experience (BSEE Required, MSEE preferred) –
? Experience with Discrete Power Semiconductors devices, RF/MW Diodes & MMICs and/or related semiconductors technologies highly desirable
? Candidate must have held previous Sales or Marketing positions in within China Electronics Industries for a minimum of 3 years.
? Excellent knowledge of electronic sales channel organizational methods and techniques
? Possess broad based Knowledge of China Electronic Industries and Markets in key regions such as Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shanghai , Nanjing, Beijing, etc
? Hands on knowledge of modern electronics markets for Industrial, Aerospace and Communications industries
? Good communication skills with a knack for service
? Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
? Must be able to travel 25% to 50% of the time, including international.
