This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.
Key responsibilities and duties
? Drives financial performance for Product Development (PD) for assigned categories by developing performance metrics based on category goals; projecting costs and business impact of strategic direction; ensuring products support category goals and will grow sales according to plan; developing contingency plans as necessary; reviewing sales and making changes as necessary; and communicating updates and changes to senior leadership.
? Participates in the development of the supplier matrix for assigned categories by collaborating with category leaders to determine strategic direction; evaluating supplier profiles and assessing their capabilities related to product development (PD); partnering with suppliers to ensure products align with PD strategic goals (for example, pricing, brand); assessing past performance of suppliers to ensure identification and resolution of issues; networking and building relationships with key suppliers at supplier meetings and road shows to gain insights into their business; working with senior leadership to evaluate performance; and providing recommendations regarding supplier selection and use.
? Develops and manages product development (PD) strategies for assigned categories by working with senior leaders to set category direction; interpreting category direction and developing PD strategic focus; conducting product and market research (for example, competitive shopping, supplier reviews, market analysis) to identify trends and leverage opportunities to improve the business; benchmarking within the industry to identify evolving trends; evaluating PD initiatives to ensure they are consistent with established trends and category strategy; reviewing historical data (for example, sales) to identify product development opportunities; and leveraging research data to create seasonal color palettes for new products.
? Manages and executes product development (PD) through the entire product life cycle by assessing details related to PD (for example, color, raw materials, quality, aesthetics) to ensure they meet PD criteria; approving product details based on specifications and making adjustments as needed to drive product timelines; reviewing cost components related to products to ensure they meet PD goals; reviewing PD process to identify issues that may affect product timelines; engaging cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable issue resolution; developing contingency plans in case issues arise; working with cross-functional teams to ensure final product (for example, packaging, content) is consistent with product and brand strategy; reviewing products to ensure they meet product quality standards; and assessing entire PD process (for example, sketch review, ADM, AFM) to identify areas to drive improvements.
? Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
? Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
? Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
? Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Qualifications
? High Integrity and compliance awareness.
? Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 2-year experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related field OR 4 -year experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related field.
? At least 1 year of supervisory experience and cross-functional project management.
? Good communication, negotiation, problem solving skills.
? Good command of Mandarin and English.
? Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (for example, Excel, PowerPoint) and creative based design software (for example, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
? Good knowledge in manufacturing, product development, packaging, or design.
? Master retail financial metrics (for example, profit and loss (P&L), cost components) and direct import processes.
? Can travel internationally to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring extended overnight stays.
