JOB SUMMARY:
? R&D Specialist – is responsible for providing technical support for China I/R projects;
? R&D Specialist – is responsible for R&D capability establishment & management, include Sensory & physical assessment;
? R&D Specialist – is responsible for product consumer test in China including protocol development, questionnaire design and project execution & reporting;

KEY COMPETENCY:
? Expertise on processing, manufacture & formulation of RTF & Powder-based nutritional products, thorough understanding on the composition & functionality of nutritional ingredients will be mandatory;
? Strong interpersonal skills working with both internal & external partners, strong English communication skills to enable working with Europe & USA team & be good at report writing are needed;
? Need to quickly develop expert skills on product sensory & physical evaluation and product consumer research, experience on these will be an ‘add’.
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical support for China I/R projects:
? Provide technical support from ideation to commercialization, play an key role in product development plan generation to meet consumer expectation, product sensory profile & regulation etc.;
? Technical review of PPAs, draft recipes to ensure meet the project scope & team alignment;
? Translate commercial initiative/unmet consumer needs into technical parameter or product prototype;
? Provide scientific or technical evidence to support for business decisions, consumer queries etc.;
2. R&D capability management
? Independently manage the sensory QDA test using external sensory panel, including plan generation, project brief preparation, proposal review, project execution & results reporting etc.;
? Lead the project for internal sensory expert panel qualification;
? Take full responsibility on the physical evaluation program (including Solubility, foaming, White specs, TBV and PSD):
? Issue annual test plan, coordinate for the samples preparation & test execution, conduct results review, reporting & sharing with the relevant stakeholders, propose corrective action plan if needed;
? Coordinate for quarterly method verification & issue the verification report, ensure to deliver the robust test results;
? In charge of the Product intelligence database and issue summary report for each product category & innovated key competitors’ product;
? Leverage external lab to provide nutrients analysis as per project needs;
3. Product consumer test:
? Working together with Global R&D & project team to align on the test strategy, timeline & action standard;
? Collaborate with Global team to lead for the project protocol preparation & Questionnaire design to meet the project objective;
? Lead for the FW preparation, execution, agency training & on-site supervision;
? Responsible for research report review, results interpretation, and final recommendation to the project team;
? Lead for the test samples preparation, work together with external agency, Nestle R&D SH & logistic team to explore test samples importation options & plan, and prepare documents for custom clearance for imported samples;

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Educational /Training
Bachelor degree above major in Food Science & Technology, Food Engineering, or Nutrition Science
Working Experiences (min 5 year industry working experience, and at least 3 years working in IF industrial)
? With previous working experience in R&D or technical dept. of manufacturing site in IF industry;
? Working experience in MNC company, playing a leading role in cross functional projects & working experience with Global functions is needed;
? Have working experience on product sensory & physical evaluation and product consumer test will be an “add”
? Working experience with external partners such as suppliers and vendors and proved maintaining strong and productive relationship
? Proven tracking record of sustaining and strong performance;
