Report to: R&D Director-Power Capacitor (Foreigner)
Key Responsibilities:
The job holder is disciplinary located in Power Capacitor operations, cost center of the CAP PW PD Department. In general is responsible to handle the Product Development (Research and Development for Power Capacitors) and its interfaces with other departments and factories, targeting new products and customers, new applications, innovation, quality performance and cost reduction.
1. Research and Development. In charge of developing and adapting products and materials for new applications regarding heat, mechanical requirements, electrical stresses and increase the life expectance of product. Work to miniaturize components, develop/propose new design / materials to improve yield and reduce scraps.
2. Implementation of new products. In charge of elaborating and approving relative documentation (BOM, IFA’s, Drawings, TDR, DFMEA, Data Sheet, etc ), parameters specification and confirmation, approve processes and products for mass production. Coordinate samples manufacturing, trial runs and Safety Launch for new products.
3. Rationalization. In charge of testing alternative materials, approved new supplier and changes in product targeting cost reduction, propose design updating and so on.
4. Application. In charge of customer support for technical issues. Develop deep knowledge of the main application for Power Capacitors, participate with customers in design in activities, troubleshooting and clearing doubts. Analyze defective and returned parts from customers in 8D-report basis. Analyze either new or state-of-the-art final products using PEC components.
5. Technological reference. In charge of participating in new developments started in other CAP factories, analyze and rank competitors’ products, provide detailed specifications, features and properties of PEC components, search and keep records and papers about basic materials, application, failure analysis techniques and procedures.
6. Interfaces. In charge of interacting with QA, Production, Maintenance and Logistics in actions to reduce scraps and re-works, materials and products diversity. Support other departments in training and in continuous improvement activities. Provide technical support to Product Marketing activities, related to application, specifications and development of new products.
7. Ensure that the key performance indices in the department are under control, providing reports and planning/implementing actions to cover gaps.
8. Ensure that all activities in this area are performed according to approved instructions and documents.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor degree or above, majored in engineering (Electronic/power electronic preferred), physics or related sciences.
2. Minimum 8 years of R&D experience in electronic industry, experience in R&D experience for Power Capacitors / Film Capacitors.
3. Fluent English and Mandarin.
4. Good communication skills, to convey ideas and conduct technical discussions in both languages.
5. Usual knowledge of MS-OFFICE, AUTO-CAD basic.
6. Quality and Development tools (DOE, FMEA, 6 Sigma, and so on).
7. Power laboratory equipment.
8. Power electronics application (DC Link).
9. Active, self-initiative, mature and independent.
10. Interpersonal communication, analytical thinking.
11. Leadership and team work orientation.
12. Personal integrity.
