Position Summary: Briefly describe the primary purpose and function of this position.
? So far we have not a NPI for transducer launching. In past several years manufacturing engineer is acting this role. Along with the DD development we would like our MFG engineer to focus on sustain process improvement and would like to have a NPI to take care of new product;
? Transducer manufacturing is the key competence of JBL loudspeaker. Till today we still have a lot of transducers which are designed by JBL but manufactured by CM because CM can support our design team on the prototyping/material qualification and product validation.
? Now we are starting to transfer CM transducers back to DD manufacturing and it will bring us a big saving on material cost. We already finished one model M118-4 ($13 saving per unit compared to purchase from CM) and we are working on another three models. We need to speed up this transfer;
? According to JBL roadmap we have more and more new loudspeakers coming as well as more new transducers should be designed; Per our strategy we will try out best to build these new products within Harman manufacturing site. In order to support this we need to enhance our transducer design capabilities in Dandong.
? One experienced NPI can give us a lot of help to speed up our new product lead time. Also it is possible to keep more products manufactured within Harman not CM.
? The NPI will focus on: 1) Woofer insourcing; 2) new material qualification; 3) new product prototyping; 4) product testing; 5) process validation

Job Responsibilities: List the professional and/or technical competencies needed when performing the key responsibilities of the position. ? Support design group on transducer development for professional applications
- Change management during new product development phase
- Develop transducer samples and prototypes; create reports
- Direct project team, and all support organizations, to complete all related issues
? Solve technical issues during new product development phase and communicate effectively with affected parties.
- - Synchronize the activities of affected parties so that the new product launching is implemented smoothly.
? Ensure any relevant documentation is updated by the appropriate member of the project team (or support organization) to reflect approved changes during new product development phase
- Ensure NPI activities is in compliance with Harman Project Management procedures.
- - Articulate proposals to review the DFM process with R&D, AME and other relative groups
Basic Qualifications: List the minimum and desired education (including degrees, licenses, certification or registrations) and experience needed to perform the key responsibilities of the position.
? Hands-on audio background to understand and assess engineering request
- At least 5+ years of experience in transducer design, loudspeakers and project management.
? Knowledge of international loudspeaker standards such as JIS, GB, IEC etc.
? Knowledge and experience in using simulation and analysis software such as FEMM, Ansys, Matlab etc.
? Knowledge and experience in using CAD software, such as Auto CAD, solidworks, ProE etc.
? Proficient with loudspeaker measurement tools such as Soundcheck, MLSSA, Klippel etc.
? Willing to learn

This role is responsible to ensure that new product is launched in DD successfully. Also need to take care of any product is fully estimated for design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for quality (DFQ), cost/timing/quality impacts on all key stakeholders, implementation milestones, and necessary synchronization to documentation and processes before commitment to deliver the product to the line.
