Overview:

This team member will be responsible for building and managing a technical team following rigorous engineering methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. The ability to develop team members, hold them accountable, and communicate effectively with cross function teams is critical to this role. This team member will be responsible for identifying and resolving safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale trends.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Creates, plans, and implements strategic department objectives assigned by the GM and manager.
• May manage one or more Supervisors.
• Manages Project Leads to implement technical projects in the design, development, testing and documentation of heavy personnel lifting products.
• Responsible for the quality of work, reliability, schedule, and cost for one or more projects and/or support teams.
• Responsible for the effect of technical decisions/judgments on program schedules or goals critical to the organization.
• Assists Project Leads with creating project schedules and sets clear priorities for Supervisors.
• Develops quality, cost, and delivery metrics for Project Leads and Supervisors and holds them accountable to meet department objectives.
• Creates component and machine testing standards, department processes, and holds the team accountable.
• Coaches direct reports and models leadership and problem solving skills.
• Reviews technical work quality and provides technical training for areas where they are a Subject Matter Expert.
• Verifies and documents compliance with applicable Terex, GB, and international standards.
• Works closely with Manager to sustain a dynamic and creative engineering work atmosphere.
• Is a catalyst for solving problems involving communication and coordination between different functional groups.

Experience & Qualifications

• ABET accredited B.S. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering OR B.S. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 8+ years Design Engineering experience.
• 3+ years Project Management experience.
• Ability to provide effective preventive/corrective actions though use of advanced problem solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues to others and to work cooperatively with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to follow sequenced work associated with complex design tasks.
• Should possess servant leadership characteristics to effectively lead a technical team.
• Capability to utilize wide application of standard mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial engineering principles, theories and concepts.
• Knowledge of AWP or similar products and components including electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, and structural members.
• Ability to work independently without supervision and manage the work of others.
• Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of industry standards and requirements.
• Proven ability to use Engineering tools to solve complex problems and prove adequate design.

Estimated Travel

· 10% within and/or out of China.
