SUMMARY

To complete engineering development projects by planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project. Supervises all development and implementation of a project and oversees facility upgrades and is actively involved in any other project-related work. Ensures effective communication and assigned projects between all disciplines and all other related teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibilities

·Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.

·Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing, in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff.

·Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.

·Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.

·Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

·Directs integration of technical activities and products.

·Evaluates drawing design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.

·Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.

·Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

·Prepares interim and completion project and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions and reports, Key Performance Indices.

·Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

·Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

·Design Skills, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management

·Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), English an advantage, but not necessary.

·Ability to read, interpret and analyse drawings.

·Flowcharting ability and procedure analysis know how.

·Knowledge in measuring methods especially with precision measuring instruments i.e. CMM Systems.

·Good knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Quality Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, APQP.

·Knowledge and experience with QS9000 and/ or ISO9001: 2000 / TS16949

·Data analysis skills coupled with above average report writing, chart development abilities.

·Ability to manage multiple projects and frequent changing priorities.

·Proficiency with Microsoft Windows based Applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), Solid Works, and AutoCad Pro-E.

·Technical Know-How on Investment Casting, MIM, Powder Metal Sintering, Die-casting processes an advantage but not a must.

·Strong organizational skills.

·Be able to work with all levels of personnel. Good team leader.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

·Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

·3 to 4 years relevant experience, including internships/co-ops

·Experience with Automotive PPAP submissions, high volume production, and Quality Certifications is an advantage, but not necessary.
